Celtics' Jonathan Holmes: Heads to training camp with Celtics
Holmes signed a training camp contract with the Celtics on Tuesday, Gary Washburn of the Boston Globe reports.
Holmes spent the majority of last season in the G-League, playing in 30 games with the Charge and averaging 12.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.0 steal across 28.4 minutes. He'll head to Boston for training camp, but with 15 guaranteed contracts already locked in, Holmes has little chance of making the opening night roster.

Holmes was waived Thursday by the Cavaliers, Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com reports.
Holmes never had a great chance of making the Cavs' roster while attending camp on a non-guaranteed contract. Look for him to end up finding a home in the D-League, potentially wit the Cavs' affiliate in Canton.

Cavaliers' Jonathan Holmes: Starting on Friday
Holmes will draw the start in Friday's preseason tilt against Chicago, Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com reports.
Holmes landed in the starting lineup as a result of Cleveland resting nine of their veteran players. He'll likely see a large boost in minutes for the night.

Cavaliers' Jonathan Holmes: Will join Cleveland for training camp
Holmes has agreed to a non-guaranteed contract and will join the Cavaliers for training camp.
Holmes' addition gives the Cavaliers the maximum 20 players for training camp, but he could be the first cut if the team is able to re-sign J.R. Smith before the start of the season, as is anticipated. If Smith's holdout drags out through the entire camp, the Cavaliers would likely opt to keep an extra wing player on hand when the regular season opens, making Holmes a poor candidate to crack the 15-man roster.

Jonathan Holmes: Expected to be ready for 2016-17
Holmes (shoulder) is expected to be fully recovered in time for next year's summer league, BasketballInsiders.com's Eric Pincus reports.
He was waived by the Lakers a couple months ago after dislocating his shoulder. Keep him off fantasy radars for the rest of the 2015-16 season, but if he gets a chance and impresses in the summer league, he could make a roster next year.

Holmes was waived by the Lakers on Friday, Bill Oram of the OC Register reports.
Holmes was never really expected to make the final roster, especially after dislocating his shoulder, so this isn't much of a surprise. He saw action in just two preseason outings, finishing with averages of 2.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.5 steals over eight minutes per game. Holmes will likely head to the NBA D-League in hopes of being called later in the season.
