Top Jordan Schakel News

  • Wizards' Jordan Schakel: Comes close to double-double

Schakel ended with 22 points (8-17 FG, 4-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), eight rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block across 38 minutes in Thursday's overtime loss to Raptors 905.

Aside from ending just two rebounds away from posting a double-double, Schakel was one of the best scoring threats for the Wizards throughout the contest. Unfortunately, his efforts were not enough to pull the upset against Raptors 905 and the team was eliminated from playoff contention.

  • Wizards' Jordan Schakel: Fills stat sheet Saturday

Schakel delivered 19 points (6-15 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), nine rebounds, six assists, two steals and a block across 37 minutes in Saturday's loss against Windy City.

Schakel was the leading scorer for the Go-Go in the regular-season finale, and he figures to play a big role in the postseason as well. He averaged 14.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game in the regular season.

  • Wizards' Jordan Schakel: Scores team-high 23 points

Schakel recorded 23 points (8-13 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three assists, a rebound and a steal across 28 minutes in Friday's win over Lakeland.

Schakel was the only Capital City player that scored more than 20 points in the game, which is a bit shocking considering the Go-Go racked up 120 points in this win. The San Diego State rookie has now scored in double digits in five of his last six games following this performance.

  • Wizards' Jordan Schakel: Nabs two-way deal from Wizards

Schakel agreed Tuesday with the Wizards on a two-way contract, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

An undrafted rookie out of San Diego State, Schakel has thus far spent his entire rookie campaign in the Wizards organization. He joined Washington on an Exhibit 10 deal for training camp, then moved on to the Wizards' G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go, after being released prior to the start of the season. He got the chance to make his NBA debut in late December, making a pair of appearances for Washington on a 10-day hardship deal that the team was allotted due to a number of COVID-19-related absences on the roster. He's since reverted to the Go-Go, and he'll likely continue to see most of his action with the affiliate for the rest of the season despite now occupying one of the Wizards' two two-way slots. Washington will have to either release one of its current two-way players -- Joel Ayayi and Cassius Winston -- or upgrade one of them to the 15-man roster in order to facilitate Schakel's signing.

  • Jordan Schakel: Scores 13 points on 13 shots

Schakel put up 13 points (4-13 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and three assists across 28 minutes in Monday's win over the Charge.

Schakel didn't have his best performance in terms of efficiency, but he still found a way to end up as one of the team's highest-scoring players. The rookie out of San Diego State has been a consistent scoring threat for Capital City this season, though, and he's averaging 15.4 points per game on the season.

  • Jordan Schakel: Puts up 17 in tight win

Schakel had 17 points (6-13 FG, 5-11 3Pt), four rebounds, four assists and three steals across 39 minutes in Friday's win over Grand Rapids.

Schakel wasn't entirely efficient in this one, but he drained five threes and also posted decent numbers in several categories while ending as one of Capital City's best scorers in this one. Schakel has been a regular starter for the Go-Go all season and has scored 15 or more points just twice since late January, but at the same time, he's been consistent enough to score in double digits in all but one game thus far.

Schakel posted 21 points (8-14 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, three assists and a block across 38 minutes in Monday's loss against Greensboro.

Schakel was efficient from the field and ended up as one of Capital City's top scorers in this loss. In fact, the 21-point outing marked a season-best mark for Schakel, and it was just the second time he was able to reach the 20-point threshold. He's averaging 16.2 points per game through six appearances in the regular season.

  • Wizards' Jordan Schakel: Parts ways with Wizards

The Wizards didn't re-sign Schakel after his 10-day contract expired Saturday, Keith Smith of Spotrac.com reports.

Entering Monday's game versus the Hornets, Washington still has eight players in the COVID-19 health and safety protocols, but Schakel didn't do enough during his week-and-a-half-long stint with the club to stick around with the depth-challenged Wizards. He played 14 minutes across two appearances with Washington, scoring zero points while shooting 0-for-6 from the field.

Schakel delivered 19 points (7-15 FG, 5-10 3Pt, 0-1 FT), five rebounds and three assists across 37 minutes in Saturday's win over Raptors 905.

Schakel has scored in double digits in all but two games so far and is averaging 12.7 points per game this season. It wouldn't kill him to improve on his efficiency, however, as he has made just 42.1 percent of his shots and 37.3 percent of his three-point attempts.

  • Jordan Schakel: Puts up 12 points in win

Schakel posted 12 points (5-7 FG, 2-4 3Pt), three rebounds, an assist and a block across 30 minutes in Thursday's win over Long Island.

Schakel has been very consistent with at least 10 points in all of his games so far this season. However he doesn't produce much in the other categories, though he will remain fantasy relevant as long as he keeps scoring on double digits on a regular basis.

  • Jordan Schakel: Puts up 13 points

Schakel notched 13 points (4-11 FG, 0-5 3Pt, 3-4 FT), six rebounds and three assists across 32 minutes in Saturday's win over Westchester.

Schakel was one of five players that scored in double digits for Capital City in this contest, and he also accomplished that feat in the season opener when he finished with 10 points. The efficiency of his shooting remains an issue, though, as he's made just seven of his 19 shots to begin the year, including just two of his 10 three-point attempts.
