Rockets' Cam Whitmore: Efficient outing in preseason loss
Whitmore posted 17 points (6-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), three steals, two rebounds, one block and one assist across 19 minutes during Monday's 122-113 preseason loss to the Jazz.
Whitmore was extremely efficient while getting it done on both ends of the floor, and he tied Alperen Sengun for the second-highest scoring mark on the Rockets behind Jalen Green (21). Whitmore is coming off a solid rookie season, during which he averaged 12.3 points and 3.8 rebounds across only 18.7 minutes per game in 47 regular-season appearances. The 20-year-old is expected to compete for playing time off the bench with Tari Eason (rest) and Amen Thompson behind Dillon Brooks (rest). However, if Whitmore can stay healthy and affect the game on both ends of the floor, it'll likely be difficult for the club to keep him off the court.

Rockets' Cam Whitmore: Shut down for Summer League
Whitmore won't play during the rest of Summer League, Kelly Iko of The Athletic reports.
Whitmore has been one of the top performers at Summer League and will turn his focus to getting ready for the regular season after appearing in three games in Las Vegas. The high-flying 20-year-old logged 47 games played with the Rockets as a rookie, averaging 12.3 points and 3.8 rebounds across 18.7 minutes.

Rockets' Cam Whitmore: Finishes rookie season strong
Whitmore finished Sunday's 116-105 victory over the Clippers with 21 points (9-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 1-3 FT), six rebounds, five assists and one block across 36 minutes.
This was a strong finish to Whitmore's rookie season, and he seems poised to take on a larger role in 2024-25. In 47 appearances, Whitmore compiled averages of 12.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.7 three-pointers on 45.4 percent shooting from the field.

Rockets' Cam Whitmore: Running with starters Sunday
Whitmore is in the starting lineup for Sunday's regular-season finale versus the Clippers, Jackson Gatlin of the Locked On Podcast Network reports.
Whitmore's explosive rookie year will end with his second start of the season, and he'll look to build off the five points and four rebounds he posted in 27 minutes in his prior start on Jan. 21. Whitmore is flanked by Amen Thompson and Jabari Smith on the wings.

Whitmore recorded 18 points (5-11 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, four assists and two blocks in 27 minutes during Thursday's 124-121 loss to the Jazz.
Whitmore has seen regular minutes off the bench in recent weeks and has scored in double digits in all but one of his last seven contests, with the lone exception being the April 9 matchup against the Magic where he got tossed. He's been making the most of his minutes and should handle a decent workload in the final two games of the season, as the Rockets have already been eliminated from the playoffs.

Rockets' Cam Whitmore: Tossed from game
Whitmore was assessed two technical fouls and ejected from Tuesday's game versus the Magic, Dan Savage of the Magic's official site reports. He will end the contest with two points (1-4 FG, 0-3 3Pt) in six minutes.
Whitmore was ejected with 1:46 remaining in the third quarter after getting into altercations with Joe Ingles and Moritz Wagner. Reggie Bullock and Jeff Green are candidates to receive increased playing time in the rookie forward's absence.

Rockets' Cam Whitmore: Scores 17 points off bench
Whitmore racked up 17 points (6-14 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 4-5 FT), four rebounds and one block over 23 minutes during Thursday's 133-110 loss to the Warriors.
Whitmore didn't miss a step despite being absent for nine straight games due to an ankle injury. When including his outings before his absence, he's now scored in double digits in six consecutive games -- and in all but three of his 13 appearances since the All-Star break. Whitmore is not expected to crack the starting lineup in the near future, but he remains a valuable scoring alternative off the bench. He's definitely worth considering as a streaming option.
