Jazz's Cody Williams: Scores 17 points Saturday
Williams posted 17 points (6-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds and two assists across 30 minutes in Saturday's 126-120 preseason loss to the Spurs.
Williams was one of three Utah players who scored 15 or more points, though overall, the team was depleted since Lauri Markkanen (rest) and Keyonte George (knee) were unavailable. Williams is expected to begin the 2024-25 regular season as an option off the bench since Markkanen and Taylor Hendricks are penciled in to start at the forward spots.

Jazz's Cody Williams: Starting against San Antonio
Williams is in the starting lineup for Saturday's preseason game against the Spurs, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Lauri Markkanen is not in the starting lineup and is not expected to feature, according to Larsen, so Williams will get the nod in his place. The 10th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft will make his first start of the preseason.

The No. 10 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, Williams played well in Summer League action but will miss the finale due to a minor ailment. He should be fully healthy for training camp and is expected to compete for a rotational role as a rookie.

Williams recorded 14 points (6-11 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, one assist, one steal and two blocks in 31 minutes during Monday's 82-70 Summer League loss to the Kings.
Williams failed to connect from beyond the arc, but he contributed almost everywhere else, which included a team-high two swats. The No. 10 pick from this year's draft is off to a hot start to Summer League, averaging 17.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 blocks over his first two appearances.

Jazz's Cody Williams: Lands with Utah at No. 10
The Jazz selected Williams with the No. 10 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Williams flashed his upside as a playmaker and finisher during his one-and-done season at Colorado, registering per-40 averages of 16.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per contest. He did struggle down the stretch of his freshman season while dealing with injuries, so he'll need to work on being more consistent and expanding his shooting range at the NBA level. With that said, he should have plenty of opportunity in Utah, so he'll be someone to watch at Summer League and throughout the preseason to see how his role develops.
