Kings' Keon Ellis: Small role in return
Ellis (ankle) played 5:35 in Tuesday's 124-123 win over the Warriors, finishing with three points (1-2 FG, 1-2 3Pt).
Ellis was back in action after a three-game absence, but he handled only a sparse role off the bench while the Kings leaned heavily on starting point guard De'Aaron Fox (40 minutes). Barring Fox missing time again due to an injury, Ellis isn't likely to see his playing time pick up dramatically anytime soon.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Available Tuesday
Ellis (ankle) is active for Tuesday's game against the Warriors.
Ellis returns from a three-game absence and slots back into a fully healthy Sacramento backcourt. He will likely reprise some backup point guard duties, cutting into Davion Mitchell's workload.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Questionable for Tuesday
Ellis (ankle) is questionable to play Tuesday against Golden State.
Ellis is at risk of missing his fourth consecutive game Tuesday due to a left ankle sprain, although Sacramento coming off three full days of rest works in his favor. If Ellis can't suit up, Malik Monk will have increased combo guard duties. Chris Duarte has logged back-to-back games with 20-plus minutes as well.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Won't face Minnesota
Ellis (ankle) has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Timberwolves, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports.
Ellis will miss a third straight contest due to a left ankle sprain. The two-way player had settled in as Sacramento's backup point guard prior to suffering the injury, but his absence Friday should open up a spot in the rotation for Davion Mitchell.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Won't play Wednesday
Ellis (ankle) is out for Wednesday's game against New Orleans.
Ellis will miss his second consecutive game due to a left ankle sprain. Chris Duarte (hand) is also banged up, leaving Kevin Huerter, Malik Monk and Davion Mitchell as secondary playmakers to help fill the void alongside De'Aaron Fox. Ellis' next opportunity to return is Friday against Minnesota.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Dealing with ankle sprain
Ellis has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Pelicans due to a left ankle sprain.
Ellis has surpassed Davion Mitchell as the top backup behind De'Aaron Fox, but the Alabama product appears to have sprained his ankle during Sunday's win over the Mavericks. Sacramento may just be exercising precaution during a back-to-back, so Ellis can be considered day-to-day, with his next chance to suit up coming Wednesday in a rematch versus New Orleans. In Ellis' absence, Mitchell figures to operate as the primary backup point guard, but if Kevin Huerter (finger) and Sasha Vezenkov (thumb) join Ellis on the sideline, Malik Monk and Chris Duarte would presumably handle increased usage as well.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Back to bench
Ellis isn't starting Monday's game against the Cavaliers, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
Ellis will go back to a bench role with De'Aaron Fox returning from an ankle injury. Ellis started his team's last two contests, averaging 6.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists,1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks in 26.0 minutes.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Fails to impress in win
Ellis provided four points (1-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds and three steals in 21 minutes during Wednesday's 121-118 overtime victory over the Trail Blazers.
The Kings were impressed by Ellis' performance Monday against Houston and gave him the start. Unfortunately, he failed to make an impact, and the team put Davion Mitchell and Malik Monk back in after only seven minutes. Ellis appeared again for brief stints in the second and third quarter but rode the bench after that.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Making first NBA start
Ellis is in the starting five for Wednesday's game versus the Trail Blazers, James Ham of ESPN 1320 Sacramento reports.
Ellis will replace Davion Mitchell in the starting five Wednesday. Ellis is a two-way player for the Kings and will make just his fourth NBA appearance of the season after making 16 in 2022-23. The 23-year-old guard is coming off of a 15-point outing against Houston.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Surprises with 15-point effort
Ellis finished Monday's 122-97 loss to Houston with 15 points (5-7 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 1-4 FT), two rebounds, one assist and one steal over 14 minutes.
Ellis logged just two minutes across two appearances before shining off the bench Monday, as he ended with more points scored than minutes played while missing just two of his seven shots from the field. Ellis saw extended minutes since Houston blew out the Kings for a second straight game, but given how much the offense has struggled, it wouldn't be shocking if he sees extra minutes in the coming contests, particularly since De'Aaron Fox remains out with an ankle injury.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Plays 11 minutes Sunday
Ellis tallied one point (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds and one steal in 11 minutes during Sunday's 112-99 preseason loss to the Raptors.
Ellis played double-digit minutes off the bench during Sunday's preseason opener but wasn't able to generate significant production in the loss. He split time between the G League and NBA last year, and he averaged 1.5 points in 4.4 minutes per game over 16 appearances with the parent club.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Out against Bucks
Ellis won't play in Saturday's Summer League game against Milwaukee due to an undisclosed reason, Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee reports.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Remaining in Sacramento
Ellis re-signed with the Kings on a two-way contract Sunday, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports.
Ellis spent the 2022-23 campaign with the Kings on a two-way deal, and he'll remain with the organization this season on a contract that will continue to allow him flexibility to move between the NBA and G League clubs. He made 16 appearances with Sacramento last year and averaged 1.5 points in 4.4 minutes per game.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Comes up empty in loss
Ellis ended Sunday's 109-95 loss to the Nuggets with one point (0-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT) and one assist in 13 minutes.
Ellis logged double-digit minutes for the second time all season as the Kings cleared their bench in Sunday's regular-season finale. Headed to the playoffs for the first time in what feels like forever, the Kings are not used to having to prepare for postseason basketball. Based on what we have seen throughout the season, don't expect to see Ellis on the floor during the playoff run.

Kings' Keon Ellis: Puts up numbers in garbage time
Ellis finished Sunday's 136-104 loss to the Pelicans with 10 points (3-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block in 17 minutes.
While the Kings were trailing by 36 points with 4:36 left in the third quarter, Ellis checked into the contest and didn't leave the court for the rest of the night. The two-way rookie out of Alabama was making just his sixth appearance of the season for the NBA team, and even though he was a positive contributor during his time on the floor, he's unlikely to receive more playing time in competitive games because of it. Look for Sacramento to reassign Ellis to the G League's Stockton Kings as soon as De'Aaron Fox returns from personal leave.
