Ivey has been a standout for Detroit during the preseason, catching the eyes of prospective fantasy managers. He averaged 15.4 points, 3.8 assists and 3.4 rebounds in 77 regular-season contests in 2023-24 but struggled with his shooting, hitting 42.9 percent from the field and 33.6 percent from three-point range.

The fifth overall pick in the 2022 Draft has had a strong start to the exhibition schedule, as he looks to prove he has a place in Detroit's future plans. Ivey should be set as the team's starting two-guard alongside Cade Cunningham to begin the season, but the former will either need to improve his scoring efficiency significantly or become an asset on the defensive end of the court, or both. If he doesn't, Ivey may lose minutes to the likes of Tim Hardaway, Malik Beasley and Simone Fontecchio.

Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Leads Pistons in preseason win
Ivey notched 22 points (6-8 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 7-9 FT), two rebounds, an assist and a block across 23 minutes in Sunday's 120-87 preseason win over the Bucks.
Ivey is competing for a starting role in the backcourt alongside Cade Cunningham, and there's no question he made a strong case for himself with a solid showing Sunday, leading the team in scoring and looking extremely efficient with his shot, particularly from three-point range. Ivey is competing with Malik Beasley and Tim Hardaway for that starting gig, and he outplayed both of them, so things might be trending in the right direction for him with the regular season approaching quickly.

Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Struggles in win
Ivey accumulated seven points (3-9 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-3 FT), one rebound, five assists and two steals in 28 minutes during Friday's 107-89 victory over the Mavericks.
Ivey's single-digit point total was just his third such performance since Feb. 26. The second-year guard has averaged 16.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 0.8 steals and 2.5 triples across 30.5 minutes in his previous 10 games. He will look to end the season strongly when Detroit travels to San Antonio on Sunday.

Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Finishes as leading scorer Tuesday
Ivey contributed 25 points (8-17 FG, 6-9 3Pt, 3-6 FT), five rebounds, four assists and one block in 32 minutes during Tuesday's 120-102 loss to Philadelphia.
With Cade Cunningham missing his fourth straight game due to left knee injury management, Ivey continues to see an uptick in shot attempts. Ivey is averaging 12.7 shot attempts per game this season, but he has attempted 15-plus shots in each of his last six games. With the regular season winding down, the Pistons could opt to sit Cunningham down the stretch, which would mean more opportunities for Ivey. Ivey has averaged 20.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists over 30.4 minutes per game over the last four contests while shooting 55.6 percent from three on 6.8 attempts.

Ivey didn't have his best shooting performance and ended up needing 21 shots to score 16 points, but he salvaged his fantasy stat line with his contributions in other categories -- mainly as a passer with a season-high 10 assists. Ivey should experience an uptick in his usage rate as long as Cade Cunningham (knee) remains sidelined.

Ivey logged 31 points (10-15 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 5-6 FT), three rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes during Friday's 108-90 loss to Memphis.
Ivey delivered one of his best scoring performances of the season Friday, and even though he reached the 30-point mark just for the fourth time in the current campaign, his efforts were not enough to lift the Pistons to victory. Ivey has scored 15 or more points in six of his last nine outings, and he could be in line to handle a bigger role on offense in the final week of the regular season if Cade Cunningham (knee) doesn't return for the final games on the schedule.

Pistons' Jaden Ivey: Struggles in return
Ivey ended with 13 points (5-17 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, five assists and one block over 37 minutes during Friday's 96-87 victory over Washington.
Ivey missed the Pistons' loss to the Timberwolves on Wednesday due to left knee soreness, but he was able to suit up Friday to help the Pistons capture their 13th win of the season. Ivey shot 29.4 percent from the field Friday and struggled from beyond the arc, but he managed to contribute in other ways. He's averaging 15.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists over 31.2 minutes per game in March.
