Thunder's Isaiah Hartenstein: Double-double in Wednesday's loss
Hartenstein accumulated 10 points (4-6 FG, 2-2 FT), 14 rebounds and three assists across 26 minutes during Wednesday's 120-96 loss to the Mavericks.
It was the third straight double-double for Hartenstein, who's been handling a bigger role in the frontcourt while Chet Holmgren (knee) is on the mend. Hartenstein produced 28 double-doubles in 57 regular-season games during his first campaign with the Thunder in 2024-25, but fell to 11 in 47 regular-season contests last season.

Thunder's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander: Gets little help in Wednesday's loss
Gilgeous-Alexander produced 21 points (7-19 FG, 1-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT), six rebounds, two assists and one steal in 28 minutes during Wednesday's 120-96 loss to the Mavericks.
Aside from Ajay Mitchell's game-high 29 points, no other OKC player managed to score more than 10 points. Gilgeous-Alexander is struggling to find his shot for the injury-ravaged Thunder, and through five games he's delivered what would be career-low percentages, shooting just 45.9 percent from the floor and 26.5 percent from three-point range. The depleted roster around him is also costing him in other categories -- SGA has averaged more than 5.0 assists in six straight seasons, but so far in 2026-27 he's managed just 3.4 a contest.

Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Big usage again in Wednesday's loss
Mitchell finished Wednesday's 120-96 loss to the Mavericks with 29 points (12-20 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals across 28 minutes.
Making his second straight start for the injury-depleted Thunder, Mitchell led all scorers on the night, but only one other OKC player was able to top 10 points. The 24-year-old wing should continue to see big minutes and usage while Jalen Williams (leg), Cason Wallace (shoulder) and Alex Caruso (ankle) are all sidelined. Over his two starts, Mitchell has averaged 29.5 points, 4.0 assists, 3.0 boards, 1.5 threes, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in 26.5 minutes.

Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Will play Wednesday
Mitchell (ankle) will play Wednesday against the Mavericks, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
With Alex Caruso (ankle), Cason Wallace (shoulder) and Jalen Williams (leg) all inactive, Mitchell should start and see major minutes for Oklahoma City. As a starter last season, Mitchell averaged 14.9 points, 3.8 assists, 1.3 triples and 1.3 steals per game on 49/42/88 shooting splits.

Thunder's Jalen Williams: Undergoes succesful surgery
Williams (leg) underwent successful surgery Wednesday to "address a fractured left fibula and reconstruction of ankle ligaments following a fracture and dislocation." He will be re-evaluated before the end of the regular season, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.
Williams suffered the injury during Sunday's meeting with the Clippers and was taken off the court on a stretcher. It's unknown when the 25-year-old will be cleared to return, though the Thunder will presumably be overly cautious moving forward. Williams, who signed a five-year extension in July of 2025, has had a productive career, averaging 17.9 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.3 steals over 30.9 minutes per contest. However, after playing at least 69 regular-season games in his first three years in the league, he has appeared in just 36 in the last two seasons combined. With the Thunder having one of the deepest rosters in the NBA, the team may look for more minutes from Jared McCain, Jaylin Williams, and Kenrich Williams for the remainder of the 2026-27 campaign.

Thunder's Alex Caruso: Return timeline uncertain
Caruso is expected to miss time due to an ankle sprain, Clemente Almanza of USA Today reports.
With Caruso already ruled out for Wednesday's game in Dallas, it sounds like the veteran forward could remain sidelined beyond a one-game absence. That would leave Oklahoma City without one of its key rotation wings for at least the near term, which could force Jared McCain into a big role for the banged-up Thunder.

Thunder's Thomas Sorber: Remains out for Wednesday
Sorber (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Mavericks.
Sorber is still without a firm timetable for a return to game action. He can be considered week-to-week until the Thunder provide an update on his progress.

Thunder's Chet Holmgren: Won't play Wednesday
Holmgren (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Mavericks.
Holmgren will miss a second consecutive contest due to right knee patellar tendinitis. With the big man and several other key pieces on the inactive list, Kenrich Williams, Jaylin Williams and Brooks Barnhizer are candidates for increased minutes in the frontcourt.

Thunder's Nikola Topic: Won't play Wednesday
Topic (back) will remain on the inactive list for Wednesday's game in Dallas.
Topic has yet to play this season, and per standard Thunder protocol, Oklahoma City has not released any updates on where he is in his rehab. He should be viewed as week-to-week moving forward.

Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Questionable with ankle sprain
Mitchell (ankle) is questionable for Wednesday's game against Dallas.
Mitchell came away with an ankle sprain in the aftermath of Monday's win over the Suns. With Alex Caruso (ankle) already ruled out for Wednesday, Jared McCain would be streaming shallow fantasy leagues and Bennett Stirtz in deeper formats if Mitchell is sidelined.

Thunder's Alex Caruso: Ruled out for Wednesday
Caruso (ankle) won't play Wednesday in Dallas.
Kenrich Williams and Bennett Stirtz should see a boost with Caruso on the inactive list for Wednesday's game. Caruso's next chance to play will come Saturday in Houston.

Thunder's Josh Dix: Fails to impress in season debut
Dix contributed zero points (0-3 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and one rebound across 22 minutes during Monday's 125-114 victory over the Suns.
The Thunder are already plagued by injuries in the early going, so they gave Dix a chance for meaningful burn. The undrafted rookie failed to stand out in his season debut, and he could shift over to the G League's Oklahoma City Blue in the coming weeks.

Thunder's Aday Mara: Impresses off bench
Mara finished Monday's 125-114 win over Phoenix with 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 20 minutes.
Mara delivered his best performance of the young season, recording his first career double-double while establishing season highs in points, rebounds, minutes and blocks. The rookie center also committed four turnovers and five fouls, but his contributions on both ends of the floor were encouraging. With Chet Holmgren (knee) sidelined, Mara could continue seeing additional opportunities in Oklahoma City's frontcourt, though his fantasy appeal remains limited to deeper leagues.

Thunder's Isaiah Hartenstein: Double-doubles in win
Hartenstein posted 15 points (6-7 FG, 3-3 FT), 13 rebounds and three assists over 26 minutes during Monday's 125-114 win over the Suns.
Hartenstein anchored Oklahoma City's frontcourt with Chet Holmgren (knee) unavailable, recording a double-double as the Thunder improved to 4-0. The veteran center continues to provide a reliable presence on the glass, and Holmgren's absence could create additional opportunities for Hartenstein moving forward. His rebounding and efficient interior scoring make him a dependable fantasy option, particularly in category-based formats.

Thunder's Jared McCain: Drops 18 points in win
McCain logged 18 points (6-14 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in 30 minutes during Monday's 125-114 victory over the Suns.
McCain entered the starting lineup in place of Cason Wallace (shoulder) and provided an immediate offensive boost, scoring 10 points before halftime. With Wallace expected to miss significant time following surgery, McCain has an opportunity to establish himself as a regular starter. Caruso's ankle injury could further strengthen McCain's outlook, making him an appealing fantasy pickup for managers seeking scoring and three-point production.
... See More ... See Less -
Thunder's Ajay Mitchell: Totals 30 points in win
Mitchell totaled 30 points (10-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 9-10 FT), two rebounds, five assists and one block in 25 minutes during Monday's 125-114 victory over the Suns.
Mitchell drew the start in place of Jalen Williams (ankle) and delivered a career-best scoring performance, including 18 points in the first half. With Williams and Cason Wallace (shoulder) both facing extended absences following injuries that require surgery, Mitchell is positioned for a significant increase in offensive responsibility. Alex Caruso also exited Monday's contest with a right ankle sprain, potentially creating even more backcourt opportunities. Mitchell should be a priority fantasy pickup given Oklahoma City's mounting injury concerns.
