Buccaneers' Sam Acho: Signs with Buccaneers
Acho signed with Tampa Bay on Tuesday, Jenna Laine of ESPN.com reports.
Acho briefly latched on with Buffalo in the preseason but was unable to lock down a job. The nine-year pro will provide depth for the Tampa Bay at linebacker.... See More ... See Less
Sam Acho: Short-lived stay in Buffalo
Acho was released Saturday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Acho was signed just a few weeks ago, but he couldn't prove himself enough to land a depth role with the team on the defensive line, where the Bills will go with players who may be less experienced but offer more upside.... See More ... See Less
Bills' Sam Acho: Picked up by Buffalo
Acho was signed by the Bills on Sunday.
The Bills have gone the route of adding experience lately, signing veteran defensive backs Kurt Coleman and Captain Munnerlyn, and now they'll add a guy entering his ninth NFL season in Acho, who figures to provide depth along the defensive line and on special teams if he makes the final roster.... Sam Acho: Cut by Chicago
The Bears are waiving Acho, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Acho started 12 of 16 games in 2017, notching 40 tackles (27 solo), 18 quarterback hits and three sacks on 639 defensive snaps. He then signed a two-year contract in the offseason, but he was reduced to a bit role on defense after the Bears traded for Khalil Mack. The 30-year-old saw his season end early with a torn pectoral Week 4, finishing with just 27 snaps on defense and 36 on special teams. Acho should be healthy before OTAs if he isn't already, and he primarily figures to draw interest as a depth option at outside linebacker for teams that deploy a 3-4 scheme.... See More ... See Less
Bears' Sam Acho: Sent to IR
Acho (pectoral) was placed on injured reserve Monday, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Acho is set to miss the remainder of the season after tearing a pectoral muscle in Week 4. The veteran will finish the 2018 campaign with one tackle to his name, and he'll now look forward to returning to Chicago in 2019 for the second season of the two-year deal he agreed to this past spring.... Bears' Sam Acho: Will miss rest of season
Acho (pectoral) will miss the rest of the 2018 season, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Acho sustained the injury Sunday against the Buccaneers. He is on the first year of a two-year deal with the Bears and will look to return healthy for the 2019 season. Acho is a key special teams asset -- having played 36 snaps on kick coverage this season -- so the team will need to find someone to fill that role in his absence.... See More ... See Less
Bears' Sam Acho: Leaves with pec injury
Acho exited Sunday's game against the Buccaneers with a pec injury and will not return, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports.
Expect an update on the rotational linebacker's health after the conclusion of the Week 4 tilt. As long as Acho remains sidelined, Aaron Lynch will serve as the primary backup to Khalil Mack.... See More ... See Less
Bears' Sam Acho: Re-ups with Chicago on two-year deal
Acho re-signed with the Bears on a two-year contract Wednesday, the Bears' official site reports.
Acho saw the most defensive snaps of his three years in Chicago during the 2017 campaign (640) and his output for the club -- 45 tackles (29 solo) and three sacks -- resulted in the Bears rewarding him with a shiny new two-year contract. He should assume his role as the team's starting right outside linebacker again in 2018, but sports little upside as an IDP option.... See More ... See Less
Bears' Sam Acho: Notches three sacks in 2017
Acho registered 45 tackles to go with three sacks and a forced fumble in 16 games to conclude his seventh NFL campaign.
Acho's three sacks were the most he's had in a season since his first two years in the league, when he was with the Cardinals in 2011 and 2012. He'll be headed for unrestricted free agency, but after averaging fewer than three tackles in each of his seven seasons he'll be a low-upside IDP, regardless of destination.... See More ... See Less
Bears' Sam Acho: Notches sack in Week 15
Acho recorded a sack, a forced fumble and four tackles in Saturday's 20-10 loss to the Lions.
Acho had his most productive game of the year, as he recorded his first forced fumble of the season while adding his first full sack to get him to 1.5 on the year. However, with just one game of more than four tackles, he's been a low-volume IDP option.... See More ... See Less
Bears' Sam Acho: Full participant Friday
Acho (ankle) participated fully in practice Friday.
Acho was a limited participant Wednesday and Thursday, but that looks to have been a precautionary move by the Bears. The veteran linebacker should be ready to go for the season opener against the Falcons on Sunday.... See More ... See Less
Bears' Sam Acho: Limited practice Wednesday
Acho (ankle) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Adam Hoge of WGN Radio reports.

Bears' Sam Acho: Free from injury report
Acho (ankle) isn't listed on the injury report ahead of Sunday's preseason game against the Titans, Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune reports.
It seems the ankle injury Acho suffered in Thursday's practice isn't much of a concern. He should rotate in behind Leonard Floyd, Willie Young and Lamarr Houston.... See More ... See Less
Bears' Sam Acho: Dealing with ankle injury
Acho is suffering from an ankle ailment, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN reports.
There's no indication that the issue is considered serious, so it's probably best to consider him questionable for Sunday's preseason game against the Titans until further notice. Though Leonard Floyd and Willie Young figure to see the bulk of the reps in the Bears' third preseason contest, Dan Skuta and Lamarr Houston would be the next men up Sunday if Acho can't play.... Acho has spent the past two seasons in Chicago where he has notched 66 tackles (48 solo), one sack, and two forced fumbles in 31 games following a four-year stint with the Cardinals.
