Ferguson, a 2014 second-rounder, failed to impress with yet another team. Considering the opportunity that was available along the Lions' weak defensive line, Ferguson's release doesn't bode well for his future chances of success.

Lions' Ego Ferguson: Heads to Detroit
Ferguson (shoulder) was signed by the Lions on Thursday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.
Ferguson has already been released by two NFC North rivals this the offseason due to concerns with the shoulder injury that kept him sidelined for the entire 2016 season, but the Lions will now give the 2014 second-rounder another chance. Ferguson produced 22 tackles, two sacks and three passes defensed during his rookie campaign with the Bears, but he's appeared in just four games since. He'll look to provide depth at defensive tackle in Detroit behind A'Shawn Robinson, Haloti Ngata, Khyri Thornton and Akeem Spence.

Ego Ferguson: Sent packing after failed physical
Ferguson (shoulder) was released by the Packers on Wednesday with a failed physical designation, ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports.
Ferguson was claimed off waivers by the Packers on Monday after the Bears let him loose over the weekend. Unfortunately, it appears the shoulder injury that sentenced him to injured reserve for the entire 2016 season is still a problem. Once he returns to full health, however, the 2014 second-rounder shouldn't have a problem finding a new job.

Packers' Ego Ferguson: Claimed by Packers
Ferguson (shoulder) was claimed off waivers by the Packers on Monday, ESPN's Field Yates reports.
Ferguson moves north after being let go by the Bears to end last week. The 2014 second-rounder missed all of last season due to a shoulder injury and was placed on injured reserve four games into the 2015 campaign because of a knee problem. Although Ferguson is still only 25 years old, the LSU product boasts merely 27 tackles and two sacks in 20 games since entering the league, making him a relatively unproven commodity for the Packers to evaluate ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Ferguson (shoulder) was waived by the Bears on Friday.
Ferguson spent the past three seasons with the Bears, appearing in 20 games while making one start. However, the defensive end has had a history of injuries and missed the entire 2016 season due to a shoulder ailment. Now a free agent, the 25-year-old will look to find his way onto another roster in time for training camp, but he'll have to prove he can stay off the injury report.

Ferguson finished the year on season-ending injured reserve due to a shoulder injury, Bob LeGere of the Daily Herald reports.
Ferguson was waived with an injury designation after injuring his shoulder in the preseason and was placed on IR after he cleared waivers. The Bears' second-round pick in 2014, Ferguson has one year left on his rookie contract and will look to make his first real impact since his rookie year in 2014, when he recorded 24 tackles, including two sacks, and three passes defensed while playing in all 16 games.

Bears' Ego Ferguson: Handed four-game suspension
Ferguson has been handed a four-game suspension for a violation of the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN Chicago reports.
After notching three tackles in four games, Ferguson was placed on season-ending injured reserve in October due to a nagging knee injury. Thus, his ban won't kick in until he's healthy enough to take the field during the 2016 campaign.
