Lions' Connor Cook: Heading to Detroit
Cook signed a future/reserve contract with the Lions on Tuesday.
Cook was cut by the Raiders before the beginning of the regular season and spent time on the Panthers' and Bengals' practice squads since. For now, he is the third quarterback on the roster behind Matthew Stafford and Matt Cassel -- who will become a free agent this offseason.

Connor Cook: Latches on with Bengals' practice squad
The Bengals signed Cook to their practice squad Monday.
Cook's place on Cincinnati's practice squad comes following the release of fellow quarterback Christian Hackenberg. The 2016 sixth-round pick will attempt to show well during his time on the Bengals' practice squad, and hope to earn a depth role.

Connor Cook: Dropped from practice squad

Connor Cook: Headed to Panthers' practice squad
Cook has joined Carolina's practice squad, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Cook, who was waived by the Raiders on Saturday, is looking to earn a new home in Carolina. The 2016 fourth-rounder had an uninspiring preseason and hasn't shown much throughout limited action in his NFL career. The Panthers' backup quarterback position remains murky, so it's conceivable that the the team could elect to transition Cook towards a depth role.

Raiders' Connor Cook: Waived by Raiders
Cook was waived by the Raiders on Saturday, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Oakland parted ways with both Cook and EJ Manuel after trading for AJ McCarron on Saturday. It won't be too surprising if Cook, a 2016 fourth-round pick, draws a bit of interest around the league despite playing poorly this preseason.

Raiders' Connor Cook: Productive in preseason opener
Cook completed 11 of 19 pass attempts for 141 yards and one touchdown during Friday's preseason opener against the Lions.
Cook led the Raiders offense for five drives during the team's first preseason tilt, while three of those possessions ultimately resulted in scores. His impressive performance was highlighted by a seven-yard touchdown connection with slot receiver Ryan Switzer as the Silver and Black took a two-possession lead in the second quarter. Cook's productivity ultimately earned him second-team reps in Monday's practice, but he fell back to earth and struggled throughout the session, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports. Cook threw a handful of errant throws and muffed a red-zone snap, resulting in second-team reps for EJ Manuel at the end of practice. Consider the battle for Derek Carr's primary backup spot between Connor Cook and EJ Manuel still very much alive heading into the team's second preseason contest against the Rams on Saturday.

Raiders' Connor Cook: Struggling in backup battle
Cook appears to be the No. 3 quarterback entering training camp, Matt Kawahara of The San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Cook and fellow quarterback EJ Manuel are the two candidates for the backup quarterback slot behind starter Derek Carr. Manuel handled the No. 2 slot last year, earning two starts while Carr was injured along the way. The team will allow Cook and Manuel to compete in new coach Jon Gruden's offense, but Cook faces an uphill battle to win the job given Manuel's career experience.

Cook (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chargers.
The third-string quarterback for the Raiders, Cook dressed for just one game this season with starter Derek Carr and EJ Manuel enjoying relatively sound health. The 24-year-old will likely have to battle for a roster spot in training camp next summer heading into his third NFL season.
