  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Ties for team lead in targets

Henry caught two of five targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 15-10 win over the Jets.

Henry briefly exited the game in the second half due to an undisclosed injury but was able to return, per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com. After finding the end zone in each of New England's first two games, Henry saw fellow tight end Pharaoh Brown score the team's only touchdown in this game. Offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien has a history of prominently featuring tight ends, and that has certainly been the case this season, though Henry faces competition for touches at the position from both Brown and Mike Gesicki. Henry's five targets tied wide receiver Kendrick Bourne for the team lead, and he should remain among the top targets for Mac Jones in Week 4 against Dallas.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Tallies another score Sunday

Henry caught six of seven targets for 52 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Dolphins.

Henry has now topped 50 receiving yards with a touchdown in each of his first two games this season. The 28-year-old tallied only two scores over 17 games last year, but he's in position to be a relevant option in fantasy leagues after matching that total through two games in 2023. Henry will attempt to keep his strong start rolling against the Jets next Sunday.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Solid involvement in offense

Henry recorded five receptions on six targets for 56 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 25-20 loss to the Eagles.

Henry benefitted from a game script that required New England to take to the air, in combination with the absence of both Tyquan Thornton (shoulder) and DeVante Paker (knee). Each of those factors inflated Henry's line to some degree, though he still out-targeted Mike Gesicki. Most importantly, Henry saw opportunity in the red zone and took advantage with a nine-yard touchdown catch late in the second quarter. He should keep a consistent role in the New England offense, but his fantasy viability will come down to his ability to continue to find the end zone.

  • Patriots' Hunter Henry: Cleared for Week 1

Henry didn't appear on the Patriots' Week 1 injury report released Wednesday.

The Patriots should have both of their top two tight ends available for Sunday's season opener versus the Eagles, as Mike Gesicki had previously been managing a shoulder injury but is also off the Week 1 injury report. Though the Patriots could implement something of a timeshare betwen Henry and Gesicki, the two may frequently be deployed together in two-tight end sets. The arrangement could allow both players to yield some degree of fantasy utility in 2023.
