Panthers' Darryl Johnson: Placed on COVID-19 list
The Panthers placed Johnson (undisclosed) on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Johnson was activated to the Panthers' 53-man roster in early December but hasn't appeared in any games since then. It's not yet clear whether he's tested positive for COVID-19, but his status shouldn't significantly impact the Panthers' defensive rotation.

Panthers' Darryl Johnson: Returns to active roster
Johnson (hamstring) was activated to the 53-man roster Tuesday, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.
Johnson was designated to return from IR on Nov. 17, so the Panthers used every bit of their 21-day window to get him activated. Johnson hasn't suited up since Week 4, but he'll look to Sunday's game against the Falcons where he'll likely serve as a rotational piece along the Panthers' defensive line.

Johnson has only played in two games so far this season for the Panthers and only recorded 10 total defensive snaps in those games. With the defensive end out Sunday, expect Marquis Haynes to see extended snaps against the Falcons. Johnson's next chance to return to the field will be in Week 9 against the Patriots.
