Dolphins' Jaylen Wright: Fizzles in lead role Sunday
Wright rushed 13 times for 23 yards and brought in both targets for 17 yards in the Dolphins' 38-10 loss to the Patriots on Sunday.
Wright had the opportunity to helm the Dolphins' ground attack due to De'Von Achane's absence with a shoulder injury, but the former found running room to be at a premium against New England's stout front. Wright found occasional success as a complementary option throughout the 2025 season, finishing the campaign with 288 rushing yards (4.1 yards per carry) and two touchdowns while adding five receptions for 44 yards on nine targets across 10 games. Wright figures to continue working in a reserve role in 2026, potentially in a new offensive system if Miami opts to let head coach and offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel go following a 7-10 season.

Dolphins' Jaylen Wright: Big run in Week 17 win
Wright rushed five times for 56 yards in the Dolphins' 20-17 win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.
The backup running back flashed with a 32-yard run, the longest of his two-year career. Wright also had scored a touchdown in two of the previous three contests and eclipsed 100 yards in one of them, so he's delivered some deep-league, late-season utility behind De'Von Achane. Wright could be the beneficiary of some extra run if head coach Mike McDaniel opts to reduce the snaps of some of his top players in a Week 18 road matchup against the Patriots.

Dolphins' Jaylen Wright: Scores late TD in loss
Wright rushed nine times for 35 yards and a touchdown and brought in one of two targets for 18 yards in the Dolphins' 45-21 loss to the Bengals on Sunday.
Wright saw complementary snaps behind De'Von Achane and recorded his second rushing touchdown of the season on a three-yard run with just under four minutes remaining. Despite the fact he tied his second-highest carry total of the season versus Cincinnati, Wright is likely to slot into a low-volume role in a Week 17 home matchup against the Buccaneers next Sunday unless Achane is injured or there's another blowout scenario at play.

Dolphins' Jaylen Wright: Limited to two touches Monday
Wright rushed once for two yards and brought in his only target for nine yards in the Dolphins' 28-15 loss to the Steelers on Monday night.
One game after logging a career-high 24 carries against the Jets due to De'Von Achane's early exit with a rib injury, Wright reverted to a bit role Monday night despite Ollie Gordon exiting due to an ankle injury in the second quarter. Wright did record only the second catch of his career, but with Achane healthy and capable of playing all three downs, Wright looks likely to remain minimally involved over the final three games of the season, even if Gordon is sidelined for any period of time.

Dolphins' Jaylen Wright: Tops 100 yards as Achane gets hurt
Wright rushed 24 times for 107 yards and a touchdown but didn't catch any of his three targets in Sunday's 34-10 win over the Jets.
Wright's two-yard touchdown run in the first quarter came prior to De'Von Achane's second-quarter departure from the game due to a rib injury. Ollie Gordon added a touchdown run in the second half but posted only 17 rushing yards on his five carries. If Achane doesn't return in Week 15 against the Steelers, Wright could work as the lead back ahead of Gordon in a Dolphins offense that relies heavily on its running backs.

Dolphins' Jaylen Wright: Splits carries with Gordon
Wright carried the ball three times for 16 yards during Sunday's 21-17 win over the Saints.
Wright logged the same amount of carries as No. 2 running back Ollie Gordon, who garnered 10 rushing yards. Meanwhile, De'Von Achane racked up 134 rushing yards and one touchdown across his 22 carries. Wright will continue competing with Gordon for reserve opportunities as the Dolphins head into a Week 14 divisional matchup against the Jets.
