The Vikings cut Neal from the practice squad Tuesday.
Neal joined the Vikings' practice squad Sept. 30, nearly a month after he reached an injury settlement with the Saints. The 2025 sixth-rounder will hit the free market and should garner interest from teams looking for depth at running back. Neal turned 57 carries into 206 yards and two touchdowns while adding 17 catches (on 19 targets) for 104 yards across 10 regular-season games for the Saints in 2025.

Devin Neal: Joins Minnesota's practice squad
Neal (hamstring) signed a contract with the Vikings' practice squad Wednesday, Rob Kleifield of the team's official site reports.
New Orleans waived Neal in early September on an injury settlement while the second-year running back tended to a hamstring issue, but he appears to have since made a full recovery. After working out with Minnesota on Tuesday, Neal quickly landed a contract, improving the organization's depth at running back while Jordan Mason (thumb) is on injured reserve. As a rookie last season, Neal appeared in 10 games for the Saints, carrying 57 times for 206 yards (3.6 average) and two touchdowns while adding 17 receptions for 104 yards on 19 targets.

Devin Neal: Set to sign with Minnesota
The Vikings are set to sign Neal to a contract, NFL reporter Jordan Schultz reported Tuesday.
Neal tried out with the Vikings on Tuesday. The running back was cut from the Saints' injured reserve Sept. 3 and has recovered from the hamstring injury that landed him on the list. The second-year player out of Kansas accumulated 57 rushes for 206 yards and a touchdown, alongside 17 receptions for 104 yards over 10 regular-season games with the Saints as a rookie.

The Saints waived Neal (hamstring) from injured reserve with an injury settlement Thursday, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports.
Neal picked up a hamstring injury in early August, and while he returned to practice Aug. 19 and suited up for preseason Week 2 on Aug. 22, he left that contest due to a likely aggravation of that issue, ending up on IR on cut-down day. The terms of his injury settlement aren't known, but once they're met, he'll be eligible to sign with a team.

Neal sustained a hamstring injury during the Saints' 34-0 preseason loss to the Rams on Saturday, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Neal appeared to pick up the injury following a four-yard carry during the first quarter of Saturday's contest. The 2025 sixth-rounder will undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury, but it puts him in jeopardy of missing the Saints' preseason finale against the Cowboys on Friday.
