Wyatt Hubert: Hangs it up
The Bengals placed Hubert on the team's reserve/retired list Saturday, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Hubert never managed to make his NFL debut after suffering a season-ending injury during Cincinnati's training camp last year. The 2021 seventh-round pick figured to compete for a reserve role along the Bengals' defensive line ahead of this coming campaign, so his unexpected retirement should open up more opportunities for Raymond Johnson, Noah Spence and Jeffrey Gunter this preseason.

Bengals' Wyatt Hubert: Gearing toward NFL debut
Bengals coach Zac Taylor said in April that he is happy to see Hubert "back in the mix" this offseason after he missed the entirety of the 2021 season with a torn pectoral, Jay Morrison of The Athletic reports.
Hubert suffered this season-ending injury during training camp in July of 2021 and was placed on the Bengals' reserve/non-football injury list Sept. 1 as a result. The 2021 seventh-round pick out of Kansas State should figure to contribute as a deep rotational defensive lineman for Cincinnati this coming season.

Bengals' Wyatt Hubert: Lands on the reserve/NFI list
The Bengals placed Hubert (pectoral) on the reserve/NFI list Tuesday.
Hubert was selected by the Bengals in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft, but he couldn't start training camp due to a torn pectoral muscle. While he is eligible to return from the reserve/NFI list no earlier than Week 7, it is feared that he will be sidelined for his entire rookie season.
