Dungey was waived by the Bengals on Sunday.
Dungey always faced an uphill battle to make the team ahead of either Kyle Shurmur or Brandon Allen. Dungey has spent time on the Browns' practice squad in the past, and he may be destined for that role with a different team once again in 2021.

Bengals' Eric Dungey: Chance in Cincinnati
The Bengals signed Dungey on Friday after a tryout.
Dungey, who went undrafted out of Syracuse back in 2019, spent time on Cleveland's practice squad last season. He'll now work to continue his development with the Bengals.

Dungey was let go from the practice squad in order to make room for linebacker Jermaine Grace. The undrafted rookie out of Syracuse will look now look for an opportunity on a practice squad elsewhere in the league.
