The Panthers placed Wright on the practice squad injured list Friday with a knee injury, Mike Kaye of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Wright suffered the injury in practice Thursday. The 25-year-old wide receiver has yet to make his NFL debut and won't be eligible for elevation to the 53-man roster for any of the Panthers' next four games.

Derek Wright: Lands on practice squad
After getting waived Wednesday, Wright is staying in Carolina via its practice squad, Darin Gantt of the team's official website reports.
Wright went unclaimed off waivers, which allowed him to stay in Carolina. The 25-year-old spent 2022 on the Panthers' practice squad and is set to start the new season in the same capacity. However, he will continue to work at practice and attempt to make an impression.

Panthers' Derek Wright: Returns from injury
Wright (knee) played in the Panthers' preseason game against the Lions on Friday, Alex Zietlow of The Charlotte Observer reports.
The wide receiver saw some run with the first team due to injuries to Laviska Shenault, DJ Chark and Terrace Marshall, and he recorded one target and no catches before sitting out the second half. Wright missed the last preseason contest against the Giants on Aug. 18 after suffering the knee injury in the Aug. 12 game versus the Jets. The second-year player spent most of 2022 on the practice squad and is fighting for a depth role as cutdown day approaches.

Wright signed with the Panthers in May as an undrafted free agent out of Utah State, where he caught 48 passes for 789 yards and 11 touchdowns during his final collegiate campaign.
