  • Chargers' Tuli Tuipulotu: Two more sacks in victory

Tuipulotu recorded four tackles (four solo), including 2.0 sacks, in the Chargers' win over the Chiefs on Sunday. It's been a true breakout season for Tuipulotu, who was the 54th overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. He sacked Patrick Mahomes (knee) twice in the first half Sunday and has now produced 43 tackles (32 solo), including a career-high 12.0 sacks, 21 QB hits, three pass breakups and two forced fumbles on 76 percent of the Chargers' defensive snaps across 14 games this season. Only Myles Garrett (21.5), Brian Burns (13.0), Micah Parsons (12.5) and Nik Bonitto (12.5) have logged more sacks this season.

Tuipulotu recorded six tackles (five solo), including 2.0 sacks, during the Chargers' win over the Raiders on Sunday. Tuipulotu had a dominant outing in the victory, logging two of the team's five sacks of Geno Smith. The 23-year-old is having the best season of his young career, racking up 36 tackles (25 solo), including a career-high 10.0 sacks, across just 12 games played.

  • Chargers' Tuli Tuipulotu: Gets to quarterback Thursday

Tuipulotu recorded three tackles (two solo), including 1.0 sacks, during Thursday's 37-10 win versus the Vikings. Minnesota quarterback Carson Wentz was sacked five times in Week 8, and Tuipulotu got in on the action in the second half for his sixth sack of the season, beating left tackle Justin Skule with a swim move. He should get some chances to pin his ears back again in Week 9 against a pass-happy Tennessee offense.

  • Chargers' Tuli Tuipulotu: Sacks Maye in Week 17

Tuipulotu registered three solo tackles, including 1.0 sacks, during the Chargers' 40-7 win over the Patriots on Saturday. Tuipulotu was responsible for the first of four Chargers sacks Saturday when he got to Drake Maye for a two-yard loss early in the first quarter that forced the Patriots to punt on the next play. Tuipulotu is now up to 8.5 sacks, and the 2023 second-round pick has a chance to reach double digits during the Chargers' regular-season finale against the Raiders next Sunday.

Tuipulotu combined with safety Derwin James for a four-yard sack on Joe Burrow late in the first quarter. • Chargers' Tuli Tuipulotu: Monster performance vs. Browns

Tuipulotu recorded six total tackles (five solo), including 2.5 sacks, in Sunday's 27-10 win over the Browns. The second-year pro from USC has begun to play ahead of Joey Bosa, recording 3.5 sacks and one pass defended across the Chargers' last two games. • Chargers' Tuli Tuipulotu: Solid building block next season

Tuipulotu compiled 53 tackles (37 solo), 4.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one pass defensed in 17 games with the Chargers during the 2023 season. While the numbers might not reflect it, the 2023 second-round pick was easily one of the team's shining lights amid a difficult 5-12 season. Tuipulotu initially started the season as a rotational piece on the edge and quietly tallied four sacks in his first nine games, despite playing no more than 76 percent of the team's defensive snaps in all but two of those contests. The rookie settled into a full-time role after Joey Bosa (foot) was lost for the season beginning in Week 12, but Tuipulotu tallied just a one half-sack the rest of the way. However, he remained a reliable disruptor in the backfield despite the modest sack production and projects as a significant defensive piece for new head coach Jim Harbaugh entering the 2024 season.
