Well, this is going to get awkward. (MSG)

The New York Islanders are the talk of hockey this year with a litany of younger players making a bigger impact for the team. One of those players is Anders Lee, who had the game’s opening goal against the Washington Capitals Monday night.

Lee was probably feeling pretty good about himself after that first period, but that might have changed after he was interviewed by MSG Network rinkside reporter Shannon Hogan during the intermission. The first question, probably would normally be something along the lines of “Can you take us through that goal was scored?” You know, the standard canned questions that intermissions provide.

Hogan started off with a different one, though, and it's cringe-worthy awkward. “I’m here joined by, uh, what’s your name again?”

Lee responded “Anders Lee,” with an awkward smile, to which Hogan followed up with “Anders Lee, I’m just joking.” Only it didn’t look like she was joking.

This is probably one of the worst nightmares for any reporter, especially one that regularly covers the team and has interviewed Lee on several occasions prior. Hogan, took in stride though and took to Twitter to shrug it off.

Hogan, hopefully is a good sport herself, as it’s one of those harmless miscues that unfortunately has been immortalized in a six-second looping clip for the internet's enjoyment. There's got to be a saying about, "You're not really a TV reporter until you log your first blooper" or something, right?
