  • Rangers' Chris Kreider: One and one in loss

Kreider scored a shorthanded goal and added a helper in Thursday's 3-2 loss to Florida in Game 5.

Kreider registered his first points of the series in Thursday's home loss. The 33-year-old has cooled down significantly after recording 10 points in as many games across the first two rounds of the postseason. In addition to the multi-point effort in Game 5, Kreider had four shots on goal, four hits and a plus-1 rating in 22:04 of ice time. New York will need Kreider at the top of his game if they want to avoid elimination in Game 6 on Saturday. The first-line winger is tied for the team lead in goals during the postseason with eight. He's also added four assists and a minus-4 rating in 15 outings.

  • Rangers' Chris Kreider: Phenomenal performance in win

Kreider scored a natural hat trick in Thursday's 5-3 win over Carolina in Game 6.

Kreider was stellar Thursday night, providing three consecutive goals in the final frame to help the Rangers advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. New York's captain jammed home a loose puck at the side of the net to put the Rangers within one in the third period. He then deflected a shot from Artemi Panarin past Carolina's Frederik Andersen to tie the game for New York. Kreider completed the comeback by netting the game-winning goal on a beautiful pass from Ryan Lindgren behind the net. Kreider finished the series against Carolina with seven points (five goals) in six outings despite failing to find the scoresheet in his previous two contests.

  • Rangers' Chris Kreider: Status Thursday uncertain

Kreider, who took a maintenance day Wednesday, is not a lock to suit up against Carolina in Game 6 on Thursday, though coach Peter Laviolette said it was "a real positive" that Kreider skated Thursday, Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today reports.

Kreider's potential absence could be nothing more than playoff head games being played by the Rangers bench boss, but unfortunately, fantasy players will need to monitor the situation ahead of warmups. In nine playoff appearances, the 33-year-old Kreider has generated four goals and three assists, including three power-play points. If Kreider can't go in Game 6, Will Cuylle could be shifted into a top-six role.

  • Rangers' Chris Kreider: Playing in Game 6

Kreider (undisclosed) told reporters he would be in action versus the Hurricanes for Game 6 on Thursday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.

Kreider didn't play it coy like coach Peter Laviolette, clearly telling reporters that he would be in the lineup Thursday. Through the first five games of this series, the 33-year-old winger has generated two goals and two assists, including three power-play points. Even with concerns about a potential minor injury, Kreider remains a top-end fantasy target heading into Game 6.

  • Rangers' Chris Kreider: Minus-3 in loss

Kreider was on the ice for three goals against in Monday's 4-1 loss to Carolina in Game 5.

It was a forgettable night for Kreider as he failed to register a point and went minus-3 in the clash. No other Rangers player was on the ice for more than two goals against in Monday's defeat. After starting the postseason with points in six of seven games, Kreider has now failed to find the scoresheet in consecutive contests. The 33-year-old did have two shots on goal and four hits in 18:51 of ice time in his latest tilt. Kreider and the Rangers will have another chance to eliminate the Hurricanes in Game 6 on Thursday.

  • Rangers' Chris Kreider: Contributes two power-play helpers

Kreider logged two power-play assists and two PIM in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Hurricanes in Game 1.

Kreider earned his first multi-point effort of the playoffs by helping out on first-period tallies by Mika Zibanejad and Vincent Trocheck. The 33-year-old Kreider has been solid in the postseason with five points, 10 shots on net, nine hits and a plus-1 rating over five contests. He provides a little grit and a strong net-front presence both on the power play and at even strength, in addition to playing significant shorthanded minutes.

  • Rangers' Chris Kreider: Starts playoffs with goal

Kreider scored the final goal in Sunday's 4-1 Game 1 win over the Capitals.

Kreider opened the postseason doing what he's consistently done over the Rangers' last two playoff runs. Since the start of the 2022 playoffs, Kreider has 17 goals and 26 points through 28 games. Sunday's game got chippy, and if the series stays that way and penalties begin to mount, Kreider could become a significant factor as a key piece of the Rangers' top power-play unit. He was sixth in the NHL with 18 power-play goals this season. Since the start of the 2019-20 season, he is tied for third in power-play goals with 72, sitting behind only Leon Draisaitl and Sam Reinhart. Sunday's third-period marker came at even strength, though.

He also added two shots on net and a minus-1 rating in 16:56 of ice time. In his last five games, Kreider has scored four times, two of which were power-play goals. • Rangers' Chris Kreider: Snaps goal drought

Kreider scored a power-play goal in Thursday's 3-2 shootout win over the Avalanche.

Kreider's tally snaps a five-game stretch with no goals and just a single assist. That's not a wild drought by any means, but it's significant for a player who scored 52 goals two seasons ago and has just two goals over the last 10 games.
