Blackhawks' Connor Murphy: Poised to miss final three games
Murphy (concussion) is not expected to be back for Chicago's last three contests of the year, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Murphy has been out of action since mid-March, so the decision to withhold him from the last three games of the season shouldn't come as a surprise. When healthy, the 29-year-old blueliner managed 10 points in his 57 contests and has never reached the 20-point mark in his career. As such, fantasy players shouldn't be expecting much out of him heading into next season.... See More ... See Less

Murphy should probably be considered a long shot to be cleared in time for Tuesday's clash with the Bruins, though he hasn't officially been ruled out yet. If he does miss out, Murphy's spot in the lineup will almost certainly go to Erik Gustafsson, while Caleb Jones could see a significant uptick in ice time.... See More ... See Less

Murphy (upper body) will return to Chicago with the Blackhawks after leaving Saturday's game versus the Senators, Mark Lazerus of The Athletic reports.
Murphy didn't go to the hospital after being stretchered off the ice Saturday, so it sounds like he avoided a worst-case scenario. The defenseman will likely be evaluated further once the Blackhawks are back home, so another update on his status may not surface for a day or two. He'll be questionable for Tuesday's game versus the Bruins.... See More ... See Less

Murphy took a hard hit from Parker Kelly, which saw Murphy's head crash into the boards. The fact that Murphy was stretchered off is not a good sign, though he was responsive as he left the ice. More information on his status may be available in interim head coach Derek King's postgame press conference.... See More ... See Less

Murphy's up to eight points, 114 blocked shots, 95 hits, 50 shots on net, 29 PIM and a minus-9 rating in 42 contests overall. Murphy registered an assist and three blocked shots in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Kraken.
Murphy earned his first point since he scored a goal versus the Avalanche on Opening Night. Murphy scored a goal on three shots, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Avalanche.
Murphy brought the Blackhawks within two goals with his third-period marker. The 28-year-old has long been a solid defender, logging 100-plus blocked shots in six of the last seven years. He signed a four-year contract extension in August, so it appears he'll be part of the Blackhawks' top-four blueliners for awhile, but his limited scoring potential will likely prevent him from widespread fantasy relevance.... The 28-year-old blueliner should continue to rack up plenty of hits and blocks while posting a favorable plus-minus rating over the next four seasons, but he likely won't produce much more than 20 points over the course of a full 82-game campaign....
