Predators' Andreas Englund: Reaches agreement with Nashville
Englund signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the Predators on Friday.
Englund was slated to become an unrestricted free agent during the offseason, but he'll remain with the Predators for the 2025-26 campaign. The 29-year-old made 35 appearances between Los Angeles and Nashville this year and recorded a goal, two assists, 78 hits, 40 blocked shots and 48 PIM while averaging 13:16 of ice time.

Predators' Andreas Englund: Gets back in lineup
Englund (illness) will play Wednesday versus the Stars, Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site reports.
Englund will return from a one-game absence and will fill a third-pairing role in the regular-season finale. The 29-year-old has just three points with 74 hits, 48 PIM and 38 blocked shots over 34 appearances between the Predators and the Kings this season.

Predators' Andreas Englund: Won't play Monday
Englund is day-to-day with an illness and will not play Monday versus Utah, according to Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site.
Ryan Ufko, who was recalled from AHL Milwaukee on Monday, will make his NHL debut and replace Englund in the lineup against Utah. Englund's next chance to return to game action will be in Nashville's regular-season finale Wednesday against Dallas.

Predators' Andreas Englund: Gathers helper in defeat
Englund notched an assist and two blocked shots in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Golden Knights.
Englund has two helpers over his last nine contests, but he's also gone minus-5 in that span. The 29-year-old has been a fixture on the third pairing when he suits up for the Predators. He's at three points, 17 shots on net, 74 hits, 38 blocked shots and 48 PIM across 34 outings between the Predators and the Kings in 2024-25, offering minimal upside in fantasy.

Predators' Andreas Englund: Contributes rare assist
Englund notched an assist, five hits and five PIM in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Blues.
The helper was Englund's first point with the Predators. The 29-year-old has combined for two points, 15 shots on net, 59 hits, 30 blocked shots, 41 PIM and a minus-5 rating between Nashville and Los Angeles this season. Englund is not a lock for the lineup in any given game, as Jordan Oesterle will push him for playing time. Englund's physical playing style doesn't make up for his total lack of scoring -- most fantasy managers can do better in filling out their depth.

Predators' Andreas Englund: First scratch with new team
Englund was scratched for Friday's 2-1 loss to the Ducks.
Englund had played in 10 straight games for the Predators after he was plucked off waivers from the Kings. Part of that was due to the Predators needing to dress seven blueliners while having only 11 healthy forwards on the roster, and that changed with Michael Bunting (abdomen) coming off injured reserve Friday. For now, Englund will likely be in competition with fellow waiver claim Jordan Oesterle for the last spot on the blue line, though the defensively shoddy Justin Barron could also be at risk of a scratch in the last few weeks of the season. Englund has just one goal, no assists, 11 shots on net, 36 PIM, 43 hits and 23 blocked shots over 21 appearances this season, and it seems likely he'll get back in the lineup against his former team Saturday.

Predators' Andreas Englund: Claimed off waivers
Nashville claimed Englund off waivers from the Kings on Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Englund has one goal, four shots on net, seven blocked shots and 20 hits in 11 appearances this season. He was a healthy scratch in 13 straight games before landing on waivers. Englund could see more playing time with the Predators, especially if Adam Wilsby (upper body) and Jeremy Lauzon (lower body) remain unavailable after the break for the 4 Nations Face-Off.

Kings' Andreas Englund: Lands on waivers
Englund was put on waivers Sunday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.
Englund has been a healthy scratch for 13 straight games and might benefit from seeing some playing time in the minors if he clears waivers. He has generated one goal, four shots on net, seven blocked shots and 20 hits in 11 appearances this season.

Kings' Andreas Englund: Still struggling to join lineup
Englund was scratched for a sixth straight game in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.
Englund played three times earlier in January when Joel Edmundson was unavailable. However, Englund has since returned to being a frequent healthy scratch, and his path to the lineup has gotten even tougher since the Kings have resumed playing just six blueliners. Drew Doughty (ankle) is also nearing his season debut. While the Kings could take an unconventional approach and carry nine defensemen on the active roster for a while, one of Englund, Kyle Burroughs or Jacob Moverare will likely need to be waived eventually. Given Englund's limited playing time and uninspiring play, there's a good chance he could be the odd man out.

Kings' Andreas Englund: Can't get into lineup
Englund has been scratched for 17 straight games dating back to Nov. 13.
Even with the Kings routinely deploying seven defensemen lately, Englund hasn't been able to get into the lineup. Kyle Burroughs has instead filled the role of enforcer while dressing as the seventh blueliner, while Englund remains a veteran capable of stepping in at a moment's notice. Over eight contests this season, he has one goal, four shots on net, 12 PIM and 17 hits while averaging 11:48 of ice time. He doesn't need to be rostered in fantasy as long as he's stuck in the press box.

Kings' Andreas Englund: Getting short end of playing time
Englund has been scratched for seven of the Kings' first 10 games in November after sitting out Saturday's 2-1 win over the Kraken.
Englund doesn't add much outside of toughness, and his ice time has been under 10 minutes in each of his last three appearances. The Kings have been more willing to give Jacob Moverare a look on the third pairing. Englund has a goal, 17 hits, 12 PIM and five blocked shots over eight outings this season, and with another tough guy in Kyle Burroughs also on the outside looking in, Englund's unlikely to see steady playing time.

Kings' Andreas Englund: Fills in, scores in win
Englund scored a goal on one shot with five hits and two PIM in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Canadiens.
Englund's wrister caught Sam Montembeault leaning the wrong way to give the Kings a 3-1 lead late in the third period. It was the first goal of the season for Englund, who entered 2024-25 with just one goal over six NHL seasons. He's filled in for Joel Edmundson (personal) over the last two games and has logged nine hits in his two starts.

Kings' Andreas Englund: Delivers helper in loss
Englund recorded an assist in a 4-3 defeat to Edmonton in Game 5 on Wednesday.
Englund registered his first point since March 15 versus the Blackhawks, a stretch of 20 games without writing his name on the scoresheet. In 82 games during the regular season, the 28-year-old blueliner managed one goal and nine helpers, reaching the 10-point threshold for the first time in his NHL career. Fantasy players probably shouldn't be expecting much more out of Englund heading into the 2024-25 campaign.

Kings' Andreas Englund: Provides rare assist
Englund produced an assist and went plus-2 in Friday's 5-0 win over the Blackhawks.
Englund's offensive contributions remain limited -- he has just three assists over 18 games since the start of February. The 28-year-old remains in a third-pairing role, but with the Kings favoring seven-defensemen lineups lately, his usage has decreased a bit. It's still been a career year for Englund, who has 10 points, 35 shots on net, 158 hits, 73 blocked shots, 63 PIM and a minus-1 rating over 66 outings.

Kings' Andreas Englund: Surfaces with helper
Englund posted an assist in Saturday's 5-4 overtime win over the Bruins.
Englund's secondary assist led to the Kings' first goal, and it marked his first point since Nov. 29. He's unlocked offensive career highs by virtue of playing more often than ever, adding a goal and seven assists through 52 games, but Englund's 57 blocked shots and 128 hits are the more significant metrics from a player evaluation standpoint.

Kings' Andreas Englund: Offers helper
Englund notched an assist and four hits in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Capitals.
Englund has an assist in each of the last two games after going four contests without a point. The 27-year-old has made the most of his regular role on the Kings' third pairing, earning seven points with 45 hits, 20 blocked shots, a plus-8 rating and 29 PIM through 20 outings this season. His toughness and passable offense could make him an option for fantasy managers in deep formats.

Kings' Andreas Englund: Plucks apple Saturday
Englund posted an assist in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Flyers.
Englund ended his three-game point drought with a helper on a Carl Grundstrom tally. The assist was Englund's fifth point through 14 contests -- he's already produced a career high in points this season. The defenseman has added 27 hits, nine blocked shots, 17 PIM and a plus-7 rating in a third-pairing role.

Kings' Andreas Englund: Nets first NHL goal
Englund scored a goal and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Maple Leafs.
It was a long journey to the goal for Englund -- he'd produced just nine helpers over his first 88 career contests for four different teams since his debut in 2016-17. The defenseman got a little help here, as his shot deflected in off a Toronto player. Englund has already matched his career high in points this season with three through nine contests, and he's added two shots on net, 19 hits, seven blocked shots, 17 PIM and a plus-2 rating. The 27-year-old has held down a third-pairing role, but a run of poor play could see him replaced by Tobias Bjornfot.

Kings' Andreas Englund: Puts up helper
Englund logged an assist in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Coyotes.
Englund has two assists over his last three games, which accounts for all of his offense this season. The 27-year-old has added 16 hits, five blocked shots, 10 PIM and a plus-1 rating as a physical presence on the Kings' third pairing. His ice time remains limited, as does his offensive potential, and a run of poor play could open the door for Tobias Bjornfot to replace Englund in the lineup.
