  • Rangers' Dryden Hunt: Lights lamp before ejection

Hunt scored a goal on two shots before being handed a five-minute major penalty and game misconduct, resulting in 15 PIM, in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Flyers.

Hunt continued his strong play since being promoted to a line with Artemi Panarin and Ryan Strome, scoring his third goal in the last five games to put the Rangers up 2-0 in the opening frame. Funny enough, that ended up being the game-winning goal, even though Hunt was gone from the game well before its conclusion. He was assessed a five-minute major and game misconduct early in the second period for a hit on Justin Braun. Hunt tried to hold up and Braun turned into it a bit, but he ultimately connected right between the numbers and drew blood. The play was on the tame side as far as ejections go and Braun stayed in the game, so Hunt's unlikely to face any further discipline, which means he should be right back on a line with Strome and Panarin against the Sharks on Friday.

  • Rangers' Dryden Hunt: Two-point effort Friday

Hunt scored a goal and an assist in Friday's 5-2 win over the Bruins.

The 26-year-old took advantage of some ice time alongside alongside Artemi Panarin and Ryan Strome, assisting on the latter's tally late in the first period before Hunt scored his own in the second. The performance doubled his point total on the season through 20 games, but if he maintains a top-six role at even strength, he could have some fantasy value in deeper formats, particularly ones that use secondary categories -- Hunt laid four more hits Friday, giving him 40 on the season.

  • Rangers' Dryden Hunt: Nets lone goal in loss

Hunt scored a goal and levied two hits in Monday's 5-1 loss to the Flames.

Hunt got the Rangers on the board at 5:25 of the third period, but that was it for their offense. It was the 25-year-old's first goal and point in seven games as a Ranger after he signed a two-year contract in the offseason. The winger had eight points in 26 outings with the Coyotes last year, and he'll typically offer more from a physical standpoint than on the scoresheet.

  • Rangers' Dryden Hunt: Lands deal with New York

Hunt signed a two-year contract with the Rangers on Wednesday.

Hunt drew into 26 games with the Coyotes last season, picking up eight points and 94 hits over that span. He may bounce between levels in 2021-22 and won't produce much offense, so he almost certainly won't break out as a useful fantasy option.

Hunt wasn't qualified by the Coyotes, so he'll become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday, CapFriendly reports.
