Vladar made 11 saves in a 4-3 overtime loss to Columbus on Tuesday.
What a bizarre game. Vladar was assaulted by a marauding Blue Jackets squad midway in the first period, and he surrendered three goals in a 2:46 span. And then the snoozefest began -- Columbus barely mustered an attack in the next two frames. Vladar has looked a lot sharper of late, and he hasn't lost in regulation in his last four starts (2-0-2; eight goals allowed). Joseph Woll continues to push Vladar, and that will invariably help his game. The Flyers still struggle with consistency, though, and we never know exactly which orange-and-black team is going to show up.

Vladar stopped 27 of 28 shots in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Sabres.
Vladar picked up his second win in a row and stretched the Flyers' winning streak to three games. After an awful start to the year, it looks like things are getting back on track, at least in the defensive zone, for the Flyers. Vladar is 2-3-1 with a 3.15 GAA and a .900 save percentage over six starts and has mostly evenly shared the crease with Joseph Woll. If the alternating starts pattern continues, Woll would face the Ducks at home on Saturday while Vladar is lined up for a home start against the Blue Jackets on Tuesday in the first half of a back-to-back.

This guy can't buy a win. Vladar and the Flyers have crashed to earth after last season's improbable run to the playoffs. And since taking a 3-0 lead in the opening round against the Pens, the Flyers have lost 14 of 15 games, including a second-round sweep to the eventual Cup-winning Hurricanes. They have lost eight games to start the season, setting a franchise low, and it's the longest season-opening skid since the Sharks lost their first nine in 2024-25. Vladar has battled, but his 4.21 GAA and .875 save percentage will soon have him benched behind Joseph Woll, who is 0-2-2 with a 2.95 GAA and .914 save percentage. This team needs wins, and head coach Rick Tocchet's neck is on the line. He'll ride the first guy who wins.

Vladar hasn't done anything early in the year to dispel the notion that he should be benched. He has allowed 15 goals in three winless outings. Vladar (upper body) was a full participant in Sunday's practice and is on track to be ready for the Flyers' regular-season opener against the Penguins on Wednesday, Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Regarding Vladar's status, head coach Rick Tocchet said, "I wouldn't say he's 100 percent, but he's very hopeful. Pretty spirited practice, and he made it through; he seemed like he looked good to me. So we'll see." General manager Danny Briere also said Saturday that Vladar should be ready for Wednesday's regular-season opener.
