Flyers' Ty Murchison: Done for season
Murchison underwent surgery for an upper-body injury and is expected to miss the rest of the season, Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Tuesday.
Murchison had six points in 29 AHL outings and went scoreless in three NHL games. The defenseman was playing in his first full professional season, and it's not yet clear if he'll be healthy for training camp. Given the missed development time, Murchison is likely to start 2026-27 in the AHL.

Flyers' Ty Murchison: Sent down Tuesday
Murchison was reassigned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Tuesday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Murchison was the odd man out on the blue line with Rasmus Ristolainen (triceps) returning to the lineup versus the Habs on Tuesday. During his brief NHL stint, the 22-year-old Murchison posted five hits, two blocks and one shot in three outings while averaging 15:00 of ice time.

Flyers' Ty Murchison: Recalled Saturday
Murchison was called up from AHL Lehigh Valley on Saturday.
Murchison's promotion gives the Flyers seven healthy defensemen on the active roster -- Rasmus Ristolainen (triceps) isn't expected to return Sunday versus Colorado, and Cam York (upper body) is doubtful for that game. Murchison has a goal, four points and 30 PIM in 21 appearances with Lehigh Valley in 2025-26.
