Kraken's Kole Lind: Accepts qualifying offer
Lind accepted his one-year, $874,125 qualifying offer from Seattle on Friday, CapFriendly reports.
Lind was taken by Seattle in the expansion draft this summer and will now suit up for the Kraken during the 2021-22 season. The 22-year-old winger has been held without a point through the first seven games of his NHL career. However, he racked up 44 points in 61 games with AHL Utica during the 2019-20 campaign. Lind will compete for a bottom-six role in training camp.... See More ... See Less
Kraken's Kole Lind: Confirmed selection
Lind will be selected by Seattle from Vancouver in the Expansion Draft on Wednesday, Province Sports reports.
Lind is likely one of the more surprising selections by the Kraken considering he has just seven games of NHL experience, though with 30 players being taken and just 23 roster spots, the team will need to bring in some depth players. Still, the 22-year-old winger racked up 44 points in 61 games with AHL Utica back in 2019-20 and certainly has plenty of offensive pedigree. At this point, it seems likely Lind will spend some time in the minors next year.... See More ... See Less
Canucks' Kole Lind: Promoted for season finale
Lind was recalled to the active roster and mustered one shot on goal in Wednesday's 6-2 loss to the Flames.
Lind ended up going without a point in seven NHL contests. The 22-year-old winger had four shots on net, a minus-4 rating and eight hits. A second-round pick from 2017, Lind should compete for a roster spot in training camp next year.... See More ... See Less
Canucks' Kole Lind: Moves to taxi squad
Lind was assigned to the taxi squad Wednesday, per CapFriendly.
Lind has failed to record a point in six games despite seeing middle-six usage since he joined the Canucks. It's unclear if he'll draw into any of their five remaining contests.... See More ... See Less
Canucks' Kole Lind: Quiet in debut
Lind was held off the scoresheet in his NHL debut Thursday against Toronto.
Lind played on Vancouver's third line, picking up one hit, one block and two shots on goal. Most notably, he logged 17:12 of ice time and was out there late in the contest when the Canucks were trying to tie the game. The 22-year-old shouldn't be expected to produce much offense, but the ice time is a good indication of the trust he has with the coaching staff.... See More ... See Less
Canucks' Kole Lind: Making NHL debut
Lind will make his NHL debut Thursday against Toronto, Farhan Lalji of TSN reports.
Lind has been productive in limited AHL action this season, racking up five goals and eight points in eight games. He's expected to skate on the Canucks' third line during his NHL debut Thursday.... See More ... See Less
Canucks' Kole Lind: Added to active roster
Lind was promoted from the taxi squad Sunday, CBS Sports reports.
Lind has tallied eight points in eight AHL games this season but has yet to make his NHL debut. He was a healthy scratch for Sunday's game against the Maple Leafs and will likely head back to AHL Utica once the Canucks roster is healthy.... See More ... See Less
Canucks' Kole Lind: Rises to taxi squad
Lind was promoted to the Canucks' taxi squad Thursday, Rick Dhaliwal of TSN 1040 Vancouver reports.
Lind was medically cleared after suffering a broken nose with AHL Utica. The 22-year-old winger has produced eight points in as many games with the Comets this year. If he's in line for his NHL debut, he'll have to wait at least a week -- the Canucks' schedule has been paused until April 8 due to COVID-19 protocols.... See More ... See Less
Canucks' Kole Lind: Continuing AHL success
Lind has eight points in eight games with AHL Utica.
Lind's first full season in the AHL saw him tally just 17 points in 51 games. He took a step forward in 2019-20, scoring 44 points in 61 contests. He's second on the team in goals with five, and second in points. The 22-year-old is looking promising and could be working his way up to an eventual NHL call-up.... See More ... See Less
Canucks' Kole Lind: Assigned to AHL affiliate
The Canucks have assigned Lind to AHL Utica.
Lind played pretty well in the minors last season, picking up 14 goals and 44 points in 61 contests, but he was never expected to start the 2020-21 campaign with the big club. The 2017 second-round pick is likely still a year or two away from making a significant impact at the NHL level.... See More ... See Less
Canucks' Kole Lind: Joins training camp roster
Lind has been added to the Canucks' training camp roster, Rick Dhaliwal of TSN 1040 Vancouver reports.
Sven Baertschi opted out of the playoffs Saturday, which opened up a spot for Lind on Vancouver's expanded roster. The 21-year-old winger has yet to make his NHL debut, but he was pretty impressive in the minors this season, notching 14 goals and 44 points in 61 games.... See More ... See Less
Canucks' Kole Lind: Finds game in AHL
Lind tallied a goal and an assist in AHL Utica's 6-4 win over Toronto on Wednesday.
Following a highly disappointing first AHL campaign in which he posted just five goals and 17 points in 51 games, Lind has found his game in year two. He has already surpassed those totals (seven goals, 22 points) and done so in just 26 contests. Lind is an energetic two-way forward with a decent set of hands, so he definitely has a chance to carve out a career as a bottom-six regular.... See More ... See Less
Canucks' Kole Lind: Finally scores first AHL goal
Lind scored his first goal of the season for AHL Utica on Wednesday.
It only took 26 games. A big scorer throughout his junior career, Lind has really struggled to get on track in his first professional season. The lack of scoring aside, Lind has just 27 shots on goal in those 26 contests and that is simply not going to get the job done. All Vancouver can do now is hope Lind slowly gets better over the second half of the season and then picks up the pace in 2019-20. Still just 20 years old, Lind has time to figure things out.... Canucks' Kole Lind: Secures entry-level deal
Lind signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Vancouver on Thursday.
Lind has racked up 85 points in 51 games with WHL Kelowna -- his second 80-plus point junior campaign. The 19-year-old's contract opens the door for him to potentially join AHL Utica once his season ends. Selected with the 33rd overall pick of the 2017 NHL Draft, the winger seems poised to make a push for the NHL sooner rather than later.... See More ... See Less
Canucks' Kole Lind: Posts hat trick Friday for WHL Kelowna
Lind picked up a hat trick in WHL Kelowna's 7-3 win over Prince Albert on Friday.
That's not bad for a guy who was cut from the Team Canada World Junior Selection Camp a mere 24 hours ago. With 16 goals and 39 points in just 24 games for the Rockets, it's been another productive season for the Vancouver draft pick. Lind is an offensive player (as those numbers indicate) but the top-six forward group for Team Canada was already spoken for and Lind wouldn't have really made a ton of sense as a depth option. His stock is on the rise and the return to Kelowna should allow Lind to produce some gaudy numbers over the holiday season.... See More ... See Less
