Jets' Colby Barlow: Scoring pace down
Barlow has 28 goals and 20 assists over 48 appearances with OHL Oshawa this season.
After three years with the Owen Sound Attack, Barlow was traded to the Generals this season. His offense has actually been in decline for a couple of years -- he had 79 points in 59 regular-season contests in 2022-23, and was down to 48 points in 50 outings in 2023-24. Despite Barlow's downtick in offense, he's on a strong team that should have him playing deep into the spring before potentially getting a brief look with either the Jets or AHL Manitoba. He'll be eligible to play with Manitoba for all of 2025-26, and given his drop in offense, some time with the minor-league club should serve his development well.

Jets' Colby Barlow: Assigned to AHL
Barlow was assigned to AHL Manitoba on Sunday.
Barlow, the 18th overall pick in 2023, tallied 40 goals and 58 points in 50 games with the Owen Sound Attack in the OHL this season. The 19-year-old winger offers an intriguing blend of physicality and scoring upside. He'll likely finish the year with Manitoba, though he could push for a spot in the lineup with the Jets next season.

Jets' Colby Barlow: Returns to practice
Barlow (illness) was back on the ice with the team ahead of Wednesday's matchup with Calgary, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Barlow faces an uphill battle to secure regular minutes with the Jets this season and almost certainly will find himself back in juniors for the upcoming campaign. Still, the 2023 18th overall pick should be a player to track for the future, especially for fantasy players in dynasty formats.

Barlow had 46 goals and 79 points in 59 OHL games with Owen Sound last season. The 18-year-old was selected by Winnipeg with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. Although he should be a big part of the Jets' long-term plans, Barlow is unlikely to make Winnipeg's Opening Night roster this year.
