Marchment came through every time the Blue Jackets needed him, and the left winger is enjoying an excellent start to his Columbus tenure with three goals in his first two games with the team. Expect Marchment to continue in a top-six role with Columbus, giving him plenty of opportunities to keep producing even if he's bound to regress in his scoring ways sooner rather than later.

Marchment was set to be in San Jose for the Kraken's game versus the Sharks, but he traveled a little farther south to link up with the Blue Jackets in Anaheim after being traded Friday. He immediately stepped into a top-line role and delivered a second-period tally in his Columbus debut. The winger is up to five goals, 14 points, 49 shots on net, 39 hits, 28 PIM and a minus-4 rating through 30 appearances this season. He may be a better fit for the Blue Jackets, but he's got some work to do to generate widespread interest in fantasy.

Blue Jackets' Mason Marchment: Flipped to Columbus
Marchment was traded to the Blue Jackets from the Kraken on Friday in exchange for a second-round and a fourth-round pick, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
Marchment put up 13 points over 29 appearances in a brief stint with the Kraken. He was acquired from the Stars in June for a third-rounder and a fourth-rounder, so the Kraken were able to extract a little extra value out of the winger. In Columbus, Marchment will likely take on a middle-six role and power-play time, but he figures to be a streaky scorer. It's unclear if he'll be in the lineup Saturday versus the Ducks.

Marchment provided the secondary helper on Jaden Schwartz's game-winning goal with less than two and a half minutes to go in the final period. Overall, the 30-year-old Marchment has eight assists, nine points, 28 shots on goal and 25 hits through 19 games this season. While his one goal and 3.6 shooting percentage have been discouraging, he has four assists over his last four games and appears to be settling into his role with the Kraken. After scoring 22 goals in each of the past two seasons with the Stars, Marchment will need to begin finding the back of the net to reach the 47-point mark, which he has hit in three of the last four seasons. Be patient with Seattle's top-line left winger in fantasy, as history favors smoother seas ahead for Marchment.
