Flyers' Porter Martone: Keeps rolling in loss
Martone scored twice and added an assist in Michigan State University's 5-4 loss to the University of Wisconsin on Friday.
Martone is up to nine goals and 17 points through 11 games in his collegiate career. The 19-year-old winger's effort wasn't enough to stave off the Badgers in this contest, leading to just the second loss of the year for the Spartans. Martone's elite scoring talent is already on display as a freshman.

Flyers' Porter Martone: Nets two goals in win
Martone scored twice on six shots in Michigan State University's 4-1 win over the University of Notre Dame on Friday.
Martone's choice to go to college has paid off pretty well so far with six goals and 13 points in nine contests for the Spartans. The 19-year-old winger has added 36 PIM, showing a bit of grit in addition to his obvious scoring touch, one that made him the sixth overall pick this past June. The Flyers look to have a good one on their hands, though they'll likely give him all the time he wants with Michigan State before getting his signature on an entry-level deal.

Flyers' Porter Martone: One of each in Friday's win
Martone scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Michigan State University's 4-0 win over Northern Michigan University on Friday.
Martone is excelling in his freshman season, earning two goals and five assists over five games. He's also racked up 18 PIM and a plus-6 rating -- it's a glimpse of the multi-category appeal he'll carry in fantasy when he makes the NHL. The 18-year-old should continue flexing some scoring muscle for the Spartans throughout 2025-26.

Flyers' Porter Martone: Two points in college debut
Martone scored a goal on five shots and added an assist in Michigan State's 4-0 win over the University of Windsor on Friday.
Martone's collegiate career is off to a strong start after he jumped to the NCAA from OHL Brampton. The 18-year-old was the Spartans' leader on offense in the team's season debut. Martone was selected sixth overall by the Flyers in 2025, and a strong showing with the Spartans could help him land an entry-level deal this spring to step up to the professional ranks.

Flyers' Porter Martone: Headed for collegiate ranks
Martone announced his commitment to play at Michigan State University in 2025-26, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports Monday.
Martone, the No. 6 overall selection by the Flyers in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, is the latest player to make the jump to the NCAA. The 18-year-old piled up 37 goals and 98 points over 57 regular-season games with OHL Brampton in 2024-25. Playing for the Spartans this coming campaign allows Martone to continue his development against bigger and stronger players. It wouldn't be surprising to see him ink an entry-level deal with Philadelphia after his collegiate season is over, which would clear the way for him to make his NHL debut as early as this spring.
