Game 4 of the 2025 Stanley Cup Final between the Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers headlines Thursday's sports slate, which also features eight MLB games. The Oilers are looking to level the series 2-2, while the Panthers hope to defend home ice and set up the opportunity to close out the series in Game 5 in Edmonton. On the diamond, NL Central rivals clash as the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers begin a four-game series. Both teams are part of what is shaping up to be a tight NL wild card race. The New York Yankees are in position to sweep the Kansas City Royals, with first pitch in the last game of that series scheduled for 6:40 p.m. ET on MLB Network.

Best bets for Thursday's games

NHL: Oilers vs. Panthers

After two thrilling overtime games in Edmonton, the Panthers showed why they are the defending champions with a 6-1 rout in Game 3 on home ice to take a 2-1 lead in the series. Six different players scored in Florida's win, showcasing how deep this team is. The Oilers got nothing out of Connor McDavid or Leon Draisaitl, who failed to register a point between them. McDavid and Draisaitl remain the top skaters in the postseason in total points. The Panthers are -151 favorites (wager $151 to win $100) on the money line in the latest SportsLine consensus odds, with the Oilers coming in as +125 (wager $100 to win $125) underdogs. The total is set at 6.5, with the Over priced at +110 and the Under at -130. The model is leaning to the Under and says one team covers the puck line in over 70% of simulations. You can see the model's latest projections, along with expert picks and player props for Oilers-Panthers Game 4, at SportsLine.

MLB: Cardinals vs. Brewers

St. Louis enters this series on a four-game losing streak, while Milwaukee has lost four of its last six. The Brewers are sending top prospect Jacob Misiorowski to the mound, while the Cardinals counter with Sonny Gray (7-1, 3.35 ERA). Gray pitched six innings against the Brewers earlier this year, giving up three runs on seven hits in a 6-5 win for St. Louis. The Cardinals have gone somewhat cold offensively, scoring just nine runs over three of their last four games if you exclude the nine runs they scored in a loss to the Blue Jays. Despite the losing streak, St. Louis is a -139 favorite on the money line in the latest SportsLine consensus odds, with Milwaukee priced as a +114 underdog. The total is 8 (Over +103, Under -123). You can see the model's latest projections, as well as expert picks for Cardinals-Brewers, at SportsLine.

MLB: Yankees vs. Royals

After losing a series to the Red Sox, the Yankees have come back nicely against the Royals and are now poised to sweep Kansas City on Thursday. New York is handing the ball to Will Warren (4-3, 5.34 ERA), who pitched 5 1/3 innings in the team's lone win against Boston in the last series. Kansas City is countering with Seth Lugo (3-5, 3.46 ERA), who gave up two runs in five innings against the White Sox his last time out. Lugo's strikeout prop is set at 4.5, and the model likes him to go Over, something he has done in three of his last five starts. The model also believes the Royals are worth backing on the money line, as they win in 46% of simulations, bringing value as +121 underdogs. You can see the model's latest projections and expert picks for Yankees-Royals at SportsLine.
