  • Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: Not practicing Wednesday

Boutte (concussion) wasn't spotted at Wednesday's practice, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.

Coach Mike Vrabel confirmed Tuesday that Boutte is in the NFL's concussion protocol, with the wideout's absence Wednesday now giving him two more chances to make a practice appearance before the Patriots' Week 17 injury designations are revealed. If Boutte isn't cleared for Sunday's game against the Jets, fellow WR Kyle Williams would be in line for added snaps.

  • Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: Concussion confirmed

Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel confirmed Tuesday that Boutte is in concussion protocol, Ben Volin of The Boston Globe reports.

Boutte was unable to return to this past Sunday's 28-24 win over the Ravens after checking out of the game in the fourth quarter to be evaluated for a head injury. With Boutte now having been diagnosed with a concussion, he could face an uphill battle to clear the five-step protocol in advance of the Patriots' Week 17 game against the Jets. Boutte's potential absence could free up more playing time out wide for rookie Kyle Williams, who had previously seen his largest snap shares of the season in Weeks 10 and 11 while Boutte was sidelined with a hamstring injury.

  • Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: Sustains head injury

Boutte (head) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Ravens.

Boutte was injured in the fourth quarter. To add insult to injury, he bobbled the ball on the play, allowing the Baltimore defender to knock away what would have been a long catch as the pair of players went to the ground. Prior to the injury, Boutte caught one of three targets for 16 yards.

  • Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: Secures only target

Boutte caught his only target for 30 yards in Sunday's 35-31 loss to the Bills.

Boutte was limited to one or zero catches for the first time since Week 9, but he was still able to finish second on the team in receiving yards behind fellow wideout Mack Hollins (41). Boutte has been a real boom-or-bust option this season, finding the end zone in five different contests while also having five performances in which he was limited to 30 or fewer yards. The wide receiver will look to put together a more prolific stat line in Week 16 against the Ravens.

  • Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: Gets into end zone Monday

Boutte brought in four of five targets for 35 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots' 33-15 win over the Giants on Monday night.

Boutte tied Hunter Henry for the team lead in receptions and brought in one of Drake Maye's two touchdown passes, recording a three-yard scoring grab with one minute remaining in the first quarter. Five of Boutte's six touchdowns on the campaign have come within the last six contests, although he's only totaled 50 receiving yards in the last three games. Boutte next takes aim at the Bills' talented secondary in a Week 15 home clash on Sunday, Dec. 14 following a Week 14 bye.

  • Patriots' Kayshon Boutte: Two catches in return

Boutte was on the field for 57 of 71 snaps on offense in Sunday's 26-20 win over the Bengals per Mike Reiss of ESPN.com, catching both of his targets for 15 yards in his return from a two-game absence.

Given that he logged an 80 percent snap share Sunday, Boutte appears to be past the hamstring issue that had sidelined him, positioning him to maintain his steady role in the Patriots' WR corps. Drake Maye's tendency to spread the ball around could lead to some quiet games for Boutte, but the 25-446-5 line he's compiled on 33 targets through 10 games highlights the 23-year-old's ceiling.
