  • Trei Cruz RF | DET

Tigers' Trei Cruz: Summoned from minors

The Tigers recalled Cruz from Triple-A Toledo on Thursday.

Cruz is 0-for-5 with three strikeouts during his brief time in the majors this season and has also struggled at Toledo with a .230/.306/.309 battling line. The Tigers' outfield has been hit hard by injuries, which could allow the defensively-versatile Cruz some playing time.

  • James Outman CF | DET

Tigers' James Outman: Sidelined with concussion

The Tigers placed Outman on the 7-day concussion injured list Thursday.

Outman was struck on the chin by an Erik Sabrowski pitch in Wednesday's loss to the Guardians. He remained in the game, but subsequent testing revealed the need for a trip to the concussion IL. It's unclear how long Outman might be sidelined.

  • Brett Bateman CF | TOR

Blue Jays' Brett Bateman: Exiting starting nine

Bateman is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game against the Red Sox.

Bateman had made seven straight starts, but the left-handed hitter will take a seat as the Red Sox send southpaw Payton Tolle to the bump. Myles Straw will patrol center field for the Blue Jays.

  • Heliot Ramos RF | NYY

Yankees' Heliot Ramos: Taking seat Thursday

Ramos is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Mariners.

It's the first day off for Ramos since he joined the Yankees at the trade deadline. Spencer Jones will handle left field for the Yankees on Thursday, and Jose Caballero will patrol right field.

  • Taylor Ward RF | SEA

Mariners' Taylor Ward: Sitting out with quad tightness

Ward is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees due to quadriceps tightness, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

He could be available off the bench, so it sounds like Ward can safely be considered day-to-day. Ward is off to a rough start in a Mariners uniform, going 5-for-32 with a 0:6 BB:K in his first eight contests. Jhonny Pereda will grab a start at catcher as a result of Ward's day off, with Cal Raleigh slotting in at designated hitter and Dominic Canzone playing right field.

  • Angel Martinez LF | CLE

Guardians' Angel Martinez: Absent from lineup

Martinez is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest in Detroit.

Martinez picked up four hits in the first two games of the series, but he'll grab a seat in Thursday's finale. Jo Adell is in left field and batting fifth for the Guardians.

  • Mariners' Randy Arozarena: Homers again Wednesday

Arozarena went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 10-5 loss to the Yankees.

Arozarena got the scoring started early Wednesday with a two-run, opposite-field blast off Will Warren, his 16th homer this season. Arozarena has now homered in back-to-back games after going 0-for-12 in his previous three contests. Overall, the outfielder is slashing a strong .276/.369/.453 across 483 plate appearances this year with 76 runs scored, 52 RBI and 20 stolen bases.

  • Mariners' Julio Rodriguez: Homers in defeat

Rodriguez went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 10-5 loss to the Yankees.

Rodriguez extended the Mariners' lead to 3-0 in the first inning with a two-out, two-strike blast off Will Warren, his 19th homer this season. The long ball is Rodriguez's only hit across 13 plate appearances in his last three games, though he'd gone 11-for-29 (.379) with a 1.057 OPS in his previous eight contests. Overall, Rodriguez is slashing .257/.324/.428 this year with 55 runs scored, 52 RBI and 15 stolen bases across 475 plate appearances,

  • Jose Siri LF | LAA

Angels' Jose Siri: Logs third steal

Siri went 1-for-2 with a double, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.

Siri came off the bench, pinch hitting for Josh Lowe in the sixth inning before remaining in the game in left field. While Siri has been left on the short side of a platoon in the outfield for much of the year, he's been productive with his time. He's batting .262 with an .802 OPS, seven home runs, three steals, 21 RBI, 24 runs scored and eight doubles over 144 plate appearances. That's a vast improvement compared to the paltry .292 OPS he had in 36 major-league plate appearances for the Mets a year ago in a campaign largely lost to a fractured tibia.

  • Mike Trout CF | LAA

Angels' Mike Trout: Drives in two in win

Trout went 3-for-5 with two RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.

Trout had gone nine games without a multi-hit effort, batting .129 (4-for-31) during that slump. He's logged a steal in consecutive games and has 10 on the year, reaching double digits in the category for the first time since 2019. Trout is batting .240 with an .833 OPS, 20 homers, 44 RBI, 68 runs scored and 16 doubles across 102 contests this year.
