Cubs' Seiya Suzuki: Stays hot in Saturday's rout
Suzuki went 3-for-5 with a walk, a home run, two additional runs scored and two total RBI in Saturday's 17-5 win over the Reds.
Suzuki tallied his second straight three-hit effort as he helped lead the Cubs to a comfortable victory. The outfielder hit his 23rd home run of the season, but his first since Aug. 17, and he could reach the 30-homer plateau for the second consecutive season if his power stroke gets going. Even if he doesn't get to 30 long balls, Suzuki is having a strong campaign, and his current .862 OPS would represent a new career best in MLB.

Casey Schmitt LF | SF
Giants' Casey Schmitt: Shifts to 60-day IL
The Giants transferred Schmitt (knee) to the 60-day injured list Saturday.

Schmitt underwent surgery in late July to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. He's technically eligible to return in the last days of the regular season, but he'll likely be sidelined for the rest of the year given that the Giants are all but eliminated from postseason contention.
