  • Grant McCray RF | SF

    Giants' Grant McCray: Sitting Saturday

McCray isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Tigers, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

McCray will get a day to regroup after going 0-for-13 with five walks, two runs and a steal across his last six games. Eddys Leonard will start in left field and bat seventh while McCray sits.

  • Jarren Duran LF | BOS

Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Late addition to lineup

Duran will start in left field and bat eighth Saturday against the Athletics.

Duran was left out of the first iteration of Saturday's lineup, but he'll join the starting nine to replace Wilyer Abreu, who was scratched with a calf injury. Duran owns a .685 OPS since the All-Star break but has slugged three home runs in six games since the beginning of August.

  • Wilyer Abreu RF | BOS

Red Sox's Wilyer Abreu: Scratched Saturday

Abreu was scratched from the lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics due to swelling in his shin/calf.

Interim manager Chad Tracy said that the team had been trying to get the 27-year-old a day off during its 16-game stretch, per Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald, so Abreu will remain on the bench Saturday while he tends to his injury. In the meantime, Eli White will move over to right field, and Jarren Duran will enter the lineup to start in left.

Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Taking seat Saturday

Duran isn't in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Athletics, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Duran will get a chance to catch his breath Saturday after slashing .250/.277/.408 across 84 plate appearances while playing in each of Boston's games since the All-Star break. Eli White will take over in left field and bat seventh.

  • Daylen Lile LF | WAS

Nationals' Daylen Lile: Continues to dominate Cincy

Lile went 2-for-4 with a double, a three-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's 5-3 win over the Reds.

The 23-year-old seems to save his best performances for games against the team that plays just up Interstate 71 from his home town in Louisville. In six career games versus the Reds, Lile has gone 9-for-25 (.360) with six extra-base hits, including four homers, and 13 RBI. Lile has had an up-and-down campaign, and while he's batting just .236 (17-for-72) in 21 games since the All-Star break, he's clubbed five of his 15 homers on the season while adding two steals, 10 runs and 15 RBI.

  • A.J. Ewing CF | NYM

Mets' A.J. Ewing: Shines in leadoff spot

Ewing went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and a stolen base in Friday's 6-4 win over the Pirates.

The rookie outfielder continues to make a good impression at the top of the order. Since becoming the Mets' regular leadoff hitter just over a month ago, Ewing has delivered a .275/.319/.404 slash line in 120 plate appearances with eight doubles, two homers, seven steals in seven attempts, eight RBI and 14 runs.

  • Cam Smith RF | HOU

Astros' Cam Smith: Homers twice in win

Smith went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs and an additional run scored in Friday's 6-3 win over the Padres.

Smith provided one of his best performances of the season, opening the scoring with a solo shot off Robbie Ray in the second inning before going deep again against Yuki Matsui to lead off the sixth, and he later singled and scored in the eighth. The two-homer effort was Smith's second multi-homer game of the season and pushed his total to 15 long balls. The 23-year-old has also gone 10-for-20 with two homers, four RBI and five runs scored since the beginning of August, though he's hitting just .222 on the year with a .686 OPS.

  • Brett Bateman CF | TOR

Blue Jays' Brett Bateman: Makes impact in MLB debut

Bateman went 1-for-2 with two walks, a double and a run scored in Friday's 5-4 win over the Phillies.

Making his MLB debut, Bateman got the start in center field and hit ninth and didn't appear overmatched -- the 24-year-old lashed the very first pitch he saw from Zack Wheeler off the wall in left-center field, missing a homer by a foot or two. The Blue Jays have a vacancy in center after trading Daulton Varsho at the deadline, and Bateman could claim the strong side of a platoon with Myles Straw if he keeps producing. Over 84 Triple-A games this season between Buffalo and Iowa, Bateman compiled a .311/.429/.416 slash line with three homers and 20 steals.

  • Reds' Hector Rodriguez: Moves to center field

Rodriguez started in center field and went 1-for-4 with a double in Friday's 5-3 loss to Washington.

This was Rodriguez's third big-league game and first start in center field after he played right field in his debut Tuesday and served as the designated hitter Thursday. The move to center field worked out, as he was tested on a couple of plays. "He did OK," manager Terry Francona told Mark Sheldon of MLB.com. "That's a big ask [to play center field]. I told him, 'If you mess something up, I'll take it, not you.'" Rodriguez, who belted 27 home runs with an .880 OPS in the minors this season, potentially gives the Reds more offense than Dane Myers in center.

  • Cubs' Pete Crow-Armstrong: Reaches 30-steal plateau

Crow-Armstrong went 1-for-3 with two walks, an RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 6-4 win over the Royals. He also stole a base.

Crow-Armstrong extended his hitting streak to five games and also swiped a base for the second straight contest. The talented outfielder is now up to 30 stolen bases overall, which marks his second consecutive season reaching that milestone. With four more home runs this year, Crow-Armstrong will have back-to-back 30-30 campaigns as well. With a robust .937 OPS to boot, the 24-year-old has been an elite fantasy contributor in 2026.
