  • Padres' Dustin Harris: Sitting against lefty

Harris is not in Tuesday's starting lineup against Colorado.

Despite riding a modest four-game hitting streak, Harris will rest as the Rockies send southpaw Kyle Freeland to toe the slab Tuesday. Samad Taylor will man left field and bat eighth for San Diego.

  • Tommy Troy LF | ARI

Diamondbacks' Tommy Troy: Dispatched to Reno

The Diamondbacks optioned Troy to Triple-A Reno on Tuesday, Alex D'Agostino of SI.com reports.

Troy went just 1-for-8 with a run scored and three strikeouts in six games after coming off the injured list Sept. 6 and will now move back to the minors to make room for Jesus Sanchez, who was claimed off waivers from Toronto. Barring an injury to one of Arizona's position players, Troy is likely to play out the rest of the season at Reno.

  • James Wood RF | WAS

Nationals' James Wood: Taking seat Tuesday

Wood is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Phillies.

After spending a month on the IL due to an oblique injury, Wood returned on Sept. 2 and started the past 10 contests. He's gone 11-for-37 (.297 average) with three doubles, four steals, two RBI and two runs since being activated, but he has seen his home-run drought extend to 18 games. Andres Chaparro is batting second as the designated hitter Tuesday for Washington.

  • Michael Helman CF | TEX

Rangers' Michael Helman: Sent on rehab assignment

Helman (hand) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Tuesday.

Helman has been out since mid-June with multiple fractures in his right hand, but he's ready to play in games again after three months of rehab. It's not a given that Helman will be reinstated to the Rangers' active roster once the club deems him physically ready.

  • Matthew Lugo LF | KC

Royals' Matthew Lugo: Sent to Triple-A

The Royals optioned Lugo to Triple-A Omaha on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old will head back to Omaha since Maikel Garcia (hamstring) is coming off the injured list. Lugo has made nine appearances for the Royals this year and has gone 2-for-14 with one walk and six strikeouts.

  • Blue Jays' Anthony Santander: Sitting rehab game with back issue

Santander (shoulder) is not in the lineup for Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday due to lower-back soreness, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Coming back from left shoulder surgery, Santander went 1-for-7 with a 0:1 BB:K in his first two rehab games. He dealt with back and shoulder problems last season as well. Santander was already a long shot to make a late-season return, and the back issue -- while it's considered minor -- won't help his odds.

  • Aaron Judge RF | NYY

Yankees' Aaron Judge: Exiting starting lineup

Judge is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Minnesota.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that he was leaning toward giving Judge a day off Wednesday, but it seems he's moved that breather up a day. Heliot Ramos will occupy right field and will bat third for the Yankees.

  • Joey Loperfido LF | HOU

Astros' Joey Loperfido: Back in majors

The Astros recalled Loperfido from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday.

Loperfido has logged a .216/.314/.333 slash line with one home run in 39 games with the big club this season. He will likely be on the roster for only a few days while Taylor Trammell is on paternity leave.

  • Astros' Taylor Trammell: Goes on paternity list

The Astros placed Trammell on the paternity leave list Tuesday.

Trammell will likely miss the entire three-game series against the Royals before returning this weekend versus Atlanta. With Trammell away, LaMonte Wade is getting the start in left field for the Astros on Tuesday.

  • Joshua Baez LF | STL

Cardinals' Joshua Baez: Absent from St. Louis lineup

Baez is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.

Baez has been getting extra days off lately, as this is the third time he's been absent from the lineup over the Cardinals' last seven contests. It's possible the club wants to ensure he retains rookie eligibility in 2027, and in order to do that, Baez must remain under 130 at-bats (he's currently at 96). Bryan Torres will play left field for St. Louis on Tuesday.
