  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Back with big club

Dominguez was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday.

Dominguez was sent down to Triple-A after the Yankees acquired Heliot Ramos from the Giants in early August, but the former is back with the big club after Trent Grisham (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list. Dominguez has appeared in 53 major-league games this year, slashing .230/.270/.380 with seven steals, six home runs, 14 RBI and 21 runs scored across 211 plate appearances. He should see some playing time in the outfield, though he figures to operate in a depth role behind Ramos, Spencer Jones and Cody Bellinger.

  • Trent Grisham CF | NYY

Yankees' Trent Grisham: Lands on IL with hamstring strain

The Yankees placed Grisham on the 10-day injured list Saturday due to a right hamstring strain.

Grisham tweaked his right hamstring during Friday's game against the Padres. The injury is severe enough for the veteran outfielder to go on the IL, and the Yankees are hopeful that he'll be back with the big club before the regular season is complete. Jasson Dominguez was recalled from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in a corresponding move, and Spencer Jones could see a bump in playing time in center field against right-handed pitching for as long as Grisham is sidelined.

  • Elias Diaz C | TEX

Rangers' Elias Diaz: Not in Saturday's lineup

Diaz is not in the Rangers' starting lineup against the Rays on Saturday.

Diaz will get a breather after going 4-for-13 with one home run, five RBI and two runs scored across his four prior outings. Danny Jansen will start behind home plate Saturday and bat ninth while catching Jacob deGrom.

  • Guardians' Patrick Bailey: Sitting Saturday

Bailey is not in the Guardians' starting lineup against the Tigers on Saturday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Bailey will be on the bench for Saturday's game while Austin Hedges starts behind home plate and bats eighth, forming a battery with southpaw Parker Messick. Bailey has gone 14-for-58 (.241) with one steal, three home runs and 12 RBI since Aug. 1.

  • Angel Martinez LF | CLE

Guardians' Angel Martinez: Playing right field Saturday

Martinez (shoulder) is starting in right field and batting second against the Tigers on Saturday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Martinez sustained a left shoulder bruise during the second game of Friday's doubleheader against Detroit when he collided with Brayan Rocchio. The injury doesn't appear to be a major concern, as Martinez is in the lineup for Saturday's contest. He has gone 8-for-26 with one steal, two home runs, six RBI and six runs scored over his last nine games.

  • Chase DeLauter RF | CLE

Guardians' Chase DeLauter: Not in Saturday's lineup

DeLauter (wrist) is not in the Guardians' starting lineup against the Tigers on Saturday, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

DeLauter suffered a right wrist sprain during the second game of Friday's doubleheader against Detroit. He's considered day-to-day, but it's uncertain if he will be back in the lineup for Sunday's series finale. Angel Martinez (shoulder) will start in right field while Jo Adell serves as the Guardians' designated hitter.

  • Shawn Ross C | TOR

Blue Jays' Shawn Ross: Claimed off waivers by Toronto

The Blue Jays claimed Ross off waivers from the Mets on Saturday and optioned him to Triple-A Buffalo.

Ross will join the Blue Jays organization after being designated for assignment by the Mets on Thursday. He is slashing .184/.333/.418 with three steals, 11 home runs and 29 RBI across 245 plate appearances in the minors this season, with the vast majority of his playing time taking place in Triple-A.

  • Shaun Anderson RP | LAA

Angels' Shaun Anderson: Back with Halos on MiLB deal

The Angels signed Anderson to a minor-league contract Friday and assigned him to Triple-A Salt Lake.

Anderson was DFA'd by the Angels on Aug. 30 and elected to enter free agency Wednesday, but the veteran right-hander will remain with the Halos in the team's minor-league system. Anderson has appeared in 17 games (six starts) for Salt Lake this season, posting a 4.95 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 47:21 K:BB over 43.2 innings.

  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Twins' Josh Bell: Slugs homer No. 18

Bell went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk during a 4-1 loss to the White Sox on Friday.

Bell scored the lone Twins run Friday with a solo shot in the ninth inning off Grant Taylor. The long ball broke a drought of 12 straight games without a blast. Over his last 30 games, Bell is slashing .304/.380/.473 with five homers and 21 RBI in 125 plate appearances.

  • Miguel Vargas 3B | CHW

White Sox's Miguel Vargas: Blasts 30th homer in win

Vargas went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout during a 4-1 win over Minnesota on Friday.

Vargas clubbed a solo shot in the first to open the scoring for the White Sox. The 26-year-old is now up to 30 homers, marking the first time he's accomplished that feat in a season, and he reached the 30-homer milestone on the same night as teammate Colson Montgomery. Over 613 plate appearances this season, Vargas has slashed .251/.363/.488 with 77 RBI, 94 runs scored and 15 stolen bases.
