Dobnak (3-5) earned the loss after allowing six runs (four earned) on six hits and one walk over 1.1 innings against the White Sox on Thursday. He struck out one.
During his final start of the season, Dobnak was unable to complete two innings after being pulled just one out into the second. This marks consecutive starts with at least four earned runs allowed. In 15 games (13 starts) this season, the 31-year-old owns a 3.51 ERA, 1.40 WHIP and 49:26 K:BB in 74.1 innings.

Vargas went 2-for-5 with two RBI, two runs, one walk, one stolen base and three strikeouts during Thursday's 9-1 win over the Royals.
Vargas extended his hitting streak to six games and has successfully recorded a base hit in 12 of his last 13 games. The 26-year-old got the scoring started with an RBI single in the first inning and later contributed another RBI single in the second to extend the lead. This year, Vargas is slashing .252/.363/.479 with 33 homers, 92 RBI, 98 walks and 21 stolen bases in 695 plate appearances.

Royals' Salvador Perez: Blasts 20th homer
Perez went 1-for-3 with a solo homer, a walk and a strikeout during Thursday's 9-1 loss to the White Sox.
Perez launched his first homer since Sept. 6 against Toronto on Thursday against the White Sox. The 36-year-old took David Sandlin deep in the fourth inning to put the Royals on the board. This year, Perez has slashed .228/.272/.378 with 20 homers and 75 RBI in 615 plate appearances.

Orioles' Trey Gibson: Optioned after doubleheader
Gibson was optioned to the Orioles' Spring Training Complex after Wednesday's doubleheader against the Blue Jays.
Gibson pitched 6.2 scoreless innings, allowing three hits and two walks while striking out seven on his way to win in the team's 4-2 victory over Toronto in the nightcap of Wednesday's doubleheader. He will now end his season having produced a 6.13 ERA and 1.71 WHIP with 37 strikeouts over 39.2 innings in nine appearances, including eight starts, with Baltimore this season.

Orioles' Albert Suarez: Contract selected Thursday
Suarez had his contract selected from Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday.
Suarez will join the major-league roster ahead of the team's final series of the regular season beginning Friday in the Bronx. Suarez has produced a 4.12 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with 41 strikeouts over 59 innings in 27 appearances with Baltimore this season. Right-handed pitcher Trey Gibson was optioned to the team's Spring Training Complex in a corresponding move.

White Sox's Kyle Teel: Blasts fifth homer Thursday
Teel went 2-for-2 with a solo home run, a walk and three runs during Thursday's 9-1 win over the Royals.
Teel launched his first homer since Sept. 8 after blasting his fifth homer of the campaign off Alex Lange in the fourth inning. The 24-year-old scored a season-high three runs during Thursday's win. Over 136 plate appearances this season, Teel has slashed .196/.333/.357 with five homers and 24 RBI.

Orioles' Kyle Bradish: Transferred to 60-day IL
Bradish (abdomen) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Thursday.
Bradish is dealing with a sport hernia, and he was already set to miss the final stretch of the regular season. Right-handed pitcher Albert Suarez had his contract selected from Triple-A Norfolk on Thursday, and he will replace Bradish on the 40-man roster.

Astros' Jason Alexander: Designated for assignment
The Astros designated Alexander for assignment Thursday.
Alexander will end up as the roster casualty necessary to make room for Jose Barrosa, who was selected to the active roster Thursday. Alexander has struggled mightily during his time in the majors, logging a 9.33 ERA and 1.58 WHIP in 18.1 innings, and he hasn't been very effective at Triple-A either (5.26 ERA, 1.49 WHIP, 87.1 IP).

Astros' Daulton Varsho: Out for possible Wild Card series
The Astros placed Varsho on the 10-day injured list Thursday, retroactive to Wednesday, due to left wrist inflammation.
Varsho will miss the AL Wild Card Series if the Astros win their division, but will be eligible to return for the ALDS. In a pair of corresponding moves, the Astros selected Jorge Barrosa from Triple-A Sugar Land and designated Jason Alexander for assignment.
