McDaniels could shift back to small forward following Minnesota's agreement with Jonathan Kuminga.
McDaniels currently sits atop the depth chart at power forward, but Kuminga was reportedly recruited to start at the position alongside McDaniels, Anthony Edwards, LaMelo Ball and Rudy Gobert. McDaniels' playing time should remain secure due to his defensive versatility, though the additions of Kuminga and Ball could result in fewer offensive opportunities.
