  • Khalifa Diop C | CLE

Cavaliers' Khalifa Diop: Signs with Cleveland

Diop signed a contract with Cleveland on Wednesday.

Originally selected as a draft-and-stash player, the No. 39 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft will now join the team ahead of the 2026-27 season. Presumably, Diop will be brought along slowly, which would include plenty of reps in the G League.

  • Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Absent for Lithuania

Sabonis (knee) did not participate in Lithuania's latest FIBA World Cup qualifying window as he turned his attention toward preparing for the 2026-27 NBA season.

Sabonis was limited to just 19 regular-season appearances for Sacramento last season due to injuries but remained productive when available, averaging 15.8 points, 11.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists while shooting 54.3 percent from the field. The 30-year-old remains a major part of the Kings' frontcourt entering 2026-27 and should continue providing strong production in rebounds, assists and field-goal percentage.

  • Warriors' Kristaps Porzingis: Misses time for Latvia

Porzingis did not participate in Latvia's latest FIBA World Cup qualifying window as he focused on preparing for the 2026-27 NBA season.

Porzingis had hoped to represent Latvia during the August window, but his preparation plan with Golden State prioritized getting him ready for the start of the NBA season. The 31-year-old was limited to 32 regular-season appearances in 2025-26, averaging 16.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks while shooting 44.6 percent from the field. Porzingis joined the Warriors this offseason and should have an opportunity to play a significant frontcourt role when healthy, but his lengthy injury history makes his availability one of the primary concerns surrounding his fantasy outlook.

  • Moe Wagner C | BKN

Nets' Moritz Wagner: Sits for Germany

Wagner did not participate in Germany's latest FIBA World Cup qualifying window as he turns his attention toward the upcoming NBA season.

Wagner appeared in 36 regular-season games for Orlando last campaign, averaging 6.9 points and 3.2 rebounds in 11.9 minutes per contest. The 29-year-old projects to be a reserve frontcourt option for the Nets in 2026-27 after signing a two-year deal with Brooklyn this offseason. His limited playing time makes consistent fantasy value unlikely. Wagner could become a streaming option in deeper formats if injuries create a larger role.

  • Paul Reed C | DET

Pistons' Paul Reed: Contract fully guaranteed

The Pistons fully guaranteed Reed's $5.6 million contract for the 2026-27 season, Jake Fischer of BleacherReport.com reports.

This was essentially a formality for the Pistons after Reed put together a solid 2025-26 campaign. Across 65 regular-season contests, he shot 61.7 percent from the field for averages of 7.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1.2 assists, 0.9 blocks and 0.9 steals in 13.9 minutes per contest. He's penciled in as the backup center ahead of the new campaign, assuming Jalen Duren ultimately re-signs.

  • Nikola Jokic C | DEN

Nuggets' Nikola Jokic: Battling illness with Serbia

Jokic (illness) registered eight points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 6-7 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal in 23 minutes during Serbia's 76-64 win over Italy in Monday's FIBA World Cup qualifier.

Jokic has been playing through an illness for the Serbian national team, per Harrison Wind of TheDNVR.com, so he hasn't been looking like his usual dominant self on the court. The perennial MVP candidate figures to be well past whatever's ailing him come time for training camp with the Nuggets later this fall, and he's paralleled by only Victor Wembanyama in discussions for the No. 1 overall pick in fantasy circles.

  • Yang Hansen C | POR

Trail Blazers' Yang Hansen: Leads China to victory

Hansen registered 19 points (8-9 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, two assists and one block in 25 minutes during China's 89-87 win over Lebanon in Monday's FIBA World Cup qualifier.

Hansen starred for China on Monday, leading the club in scoring and rebounding. Hansen, a 2025 first-rounder, is looking to carve out a more prominent role in his second season with Portland, but he'll likely need to overtake Robert Williams and Micah Potter for a rotation spot. With that in mind, Hansen's most likely pathway to steady playing time resides with the G League's Rip City Remix.

  • Celtics' Neemias Queta: Overcomes injury scare

Queta (ankle) registered 20 points (8-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-6 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists, one steal and four blocks in 30 minutes during Portugal's 98-90 loss to Georgia in Monday's FIBA World Cup qualifier.

Queta turned his ankle and couldn't finish Friday's exhibition against Spain, so his presence on the floor Monday was encouraging. The big man, who's lined up to share Boston's center minutes with Mitchell Robinson in 2026-27, should be a full participant for training camp with the Celtics later this fall.

  • Aday Mara C | OKC

Thunder's Aday Mara: Shines in FIBA qualifier

Mara registered 15 points (5-7 FG, 5-7 FT), 13 rebounds, one assist and one block in 25 minutes during Spain's 108-106 loss to Greece in Monday's FIBA World Cup qualifier.

Mara led the club in boards Monday and scored an efficient 15 points. Although the prospect of a larger role diminished once Isaiah Hartenstein re-signed with the Thunder this offseason, the door is still open for Mara to have an impressive camp and seize an Opening Night role. The rookie No. 12 overall pick is set to battle with Jaylin Williams for the backup center gig.

  • Jalen Duren C | DET

Pistons' Jalen Duren: Extension still not close

Duren and the Pistons remain apart in contract negotiations, with Detroit offering approximately $35 million annually while Duren is seeking more than $40 million per year, according to Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com.

The two sides have been unable to reach an agreement throughout the summer, leaving Duren as one of the NBA's most prominent remaining restricted free agents. The 22-year-old could accept his $9.6 million qualifying offer and become an unrestricted free agent next summer, but Detroit has maintained that it wants to retain him long-term, making an eventual agreement the more likely outcome. Duren is coming off a breakout 2025-26 regular season in which he earned his first All-Star and All-NBA selections while averaging 19.5 points and 10.5 rebounds on 65.0 percent shooting.
