  • Oso Ighodaro C | PHO

Suns' Oso Ighodaro: Expanding his game

Ighodaro has spent the offseason working to expand his offensive game, with the third-year big man specifically focusing on his free-throw shooting and three-point range, Duane Rankin of The Arizona Republic reports.

Ighodaro attempted just three three-pointers over his first two NBA seasons and shot 45.3 percent from the charity stripe in 2025-26 over 82 regular-season games, so any progress as a shooter could add another dimension to his offensive profile. The 24-year-old also said he plans to be more aggressive while continuing to serve as a "connector" and on-court quarterback on both ends of the floor. Ighodaro averaged 6.5 points and 5.1 rebounds while shooting 65.3 percent from the field and appearing in all 82 regular-season games last campaign.

  • Jalen Duren C | DET

Pistons' Jalen Duren: Extension talks turn 'nasty'

Duren and the Pistons have seemingly not made any progress on a long-term extension, with Tim MacMahon of ESPN reporting that negotiations have been "nasty."

MacMahon didn't elaborate on just how bad things have been between the two sides and isn't sure if Duren plans to sign an extension. The 2022 No. 13 overall pick spent his first four years with Detroit, though he is coming off his most productive campaign to date, averaging a career-high 19.5 points along with 10.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 28.2 minutes per showing across 70 regular-season games in 2025-26. Additionally, he earned his first All-Star nod. However, it was a different story during the postseason, with the 22-year-old averaging 10.2 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 blocks over 30.1 minutes per game in 14 playoff appearances. There are several directions this situation can go, including Duren agreeing to the proposed contract of roughly $35-$38 million annually. He can also accept a one-year, $9.6 million qualifying offer and become an unrestricted free agent next summer. While there is still time for progress to be made, both sides are likely running out of patience, which won't improve the chances of Duren remaining in Detroit beyond the 2026-27 campaign.

  • Celtics' Neemias Queta: Could take offensive leap in 2026-27

Queta could take an offensive leap in the 2026-27 campaign after averaging a career-high 10.2 points over 76 regular-season games last season, Jack Simone of BostonSportsJournal.com reports.

With Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford out of the picture, Queta was a regular in the starting five last season. The big man averaged 10.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.3 blocks and 0.8 steals in 25.3 minutes per regular-season tilt. While he averaged a career-high mark in scoring and took a significant jump on the defensive end, there's still plenty of room for Queta to improve offensively. Jaylen Brown was traded to the 76ers in exchange for Paul George this offseason, so there should be more shot attempts up for grabs. Additionally, Jayson Tatum is expected to start the season at full health after missing most of the 2025-26 regular season while recovering from a torn Achilles. Tatum's ability to get his teammates involved could be key to unlocking Queta's full offensive potential. The Celtics also lost Nikola Vucevic to free agency while landing Mitchell Robinson, who represents an upgrade defensively but a downgrade on the offensive end. Queta figures to handle a starting role once again and will look to grow his offensive game while providing Boston with efficient scoring around the rim.

  • Nikola Jokic C | DEN

Nuggets' Nikola Jokic: Nuggets add around him

The Nuggets added another playmaker with the signing of DeMar DeRozan on Friday to pair alongside Jokic to help handle the offensive pressure in 2026-27.

Jokic averaged a triple-double for the second straight season in 2025-26, though it's possible the addition of DeRozan slightly cuts into his ball-handling responsibilities. Regardless, the presence of DeRozan, a six-time All-Star, as opposed to the more defensive-minded Peyton Watson, should aid Jokic's efficiency as well as his ability to find open looks all around the court in 2026-27.

  • Ismael Kamagate: Draft rights dealt to Cavs

The Clippers traded Kamagate's draft rights to the Cavaliers on Thursday, NBA writer Justin Russo reports.

This was part of the deal that sent Max Strus to the Clippers on Thursday in a five-team trade. Cleveland will now have Kamagate's draft rights should he elect to pursue an NBA opportunity.

  • Santi Aldama C | DAL

Mavericks' Santi Aldama: Could be ready for camp

Aldama (knee) is expected to be ready in time for training camp, according to NBA reporter Marc Stein.

Aldama's 2025-26 campaign was cut short due to a right knee injury, which resulted in an arthroscopic procedure in mid-March. The Mavericks start practice prior to Sept. 29 because they have preseason games abroad, and it sounds like Aldama could have a good chance of featuring in those. However, Aldama will not be playing for Spain during the European qualifying for the 2027 World Cup at the end of August, per Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com.

  • Hunter Dickinson: Let go by New Orleans

The Pelicans waived Dickinson on Tuesday, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.com reports.

Dickinson went undrafted in 2025 and spent the 2025-26 campaign on a two-way deal with the Pelicans. He signed another two-way pact with the team in July, though he's now set to explore other opportunities if he clears waivers. The big man spent most of his rookie season in the G League, as he appeared in just five game for the Pelicans and averaged 2.4 points and 1.0 rebounds in 8.4 minutes per tilt.

  • Thunder's Isaiah Hartenstein: Managing ankle injury

Hartenstein (ankle) won't play for Germany during this summer's FIBA 2027 World Cup Qualifiers, per Eurohoops.net.

The 28-year-old center is erring on the side of caution ahead of the NBA regular season, opting to sit out the international competition. It doesn't sound like there's much concern regarding his availability for the start of training camp in the fall, but fantasy managers should keep an eye on Hartenstein's status until then.

  • Clippers' Jamarion Sharp: Lands two-way deal

Sharp signed a two-way contract with the Clippers on Sunday, Lauren Rosen of FanDuel Sports Network SoCal reports.

Sharp spent the 2025-26 campaign in the G League with the Texas Legends, and he finished the season with averages of 7.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 3.9 blocks and 1.0 steals in 25.1 minutes per tilt across 39 appearances. He's likely to spend most of his time with the Clippers' G League affiliate, the San Diego Clippers, in 2026-27.

  • Suns' Khaman Maluach: Gearing up for second season

Maluach is set to battle with Oso Ighodaro for the top backup role at center behind Mark Williams during training camp.

The 19-year-old big man put forth a dominant Summer League run, averaging 19.5 points, 12.8 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 53.2 percent from the field over four appearances. Ighodaro is the early favorite to handle the No. 2 center minutes behind Williams, though a strong showing at camp could force the Suns to give Maluach more consideration.
