With Davante Adams and Allen Lazard on the COVID IR list, the Packers are preparing to play Thursday night against the Arizona Cardinals without him. This is obviously less than ideal for the Packers and Adams' Fantasy managers alike. And if you thought you were placing him with Marquez Valdes-Scantrling, he's not playing either.
As managers scramble to the waiver wire to find a replacement, they'll find no shortage. Six of my top 48 wide receivers in the projections at the bottom of this article are available in more than 40% of leagues. Randall Cobb is not one of those receivers, but Kalif Raymond is. You should not have a hard time finding a streaming wide receiver for this week.
My concern for Cobb is how good the Cardinals have been at taking away the other team's No. 1 receiver and how ineffective Cobb has been. The veteran has more games with one or fewer targets than he does with four or more. Even with the talent shortage, I have a hard time believing Rodgers will feed him now. It seems far more likely Aaron Jones, A.J. Dillon, and Robert Tonyan soak up half of those targets. I'd really rather not start any of the Packers receivers tonight.
If you don't have a roster crunch, and you don't have a need for a starter this week, then you really need to check out the top stash option, Kadarius Toney. Despite Toney's spectacular performance he's now available in more than a third of CBS leagues, and more than half of leagues on Yahoo and ESPN.
This is tough, because Slayton is a No. 2 wide receiver if no one returns. Even if just one Giants receiver came back, I'd start Slayton as a No. 3. But it's a Monday night game and there is at least some risk that Shepard and Golladay return, which would turn Slayton back into a boom-or-bust flex.
I'm very interested to see the Jacksonville offense coming out of the bye against a mediocre Seahawks secondary. If Trevor Lawrence improves in the second half, Shenault could be a big beneficiary.
Raymond has a 20% target share since Week 3 and has at least six targets in four of his past five games. He should thrive on underneath routes against the Eagles' cover two defense and a may just be a WR3 rest of season.
Osborn has three games this season with at least 14 PPR Fantasy points and will be involved in the game with the highest over under this weekend. I'd prefer him to any Packers wide receiver.
Samuel continues to dominate target share and now leads the NFL in that regard. I understand why he's so much cheaper than Cooper Kupp, but my difference in the projections isn't that great and it's easier to build a lineup with Samuel as your WR1 than Kupp.
Diggs coming off the bye against one of the worst-performing secondaries in the NFL so far this season. Shouldn't be contrarian at all, but there are so many good receivers in his price range that I do expect a low roster rate.
