It wasn't the Masters, or the Bridgestone, or the Sony Open. Hell, it wasn't even a PGA Tour or European Tour event, but who cares?! John Daly won a golf tournament.

The 54 holes in question came in a thing called the Beko Classic, which Daly won by one stroke in Turkey over the weekend.

Golf Channel noted that this tournament is sanctioned by the PGAs of Europe, an association of 36 National PGAs -- and Darren Clarke was in the field -- so it wasn't a complete joke.

Still, the winning check was only $8,000. Jordan Spieth won that over about three holes at the Hero World Challenge.

Nevertheless, Daly spoke about his win here.

"A win is a win anywhere in the world," said Daly. "As professionals we try to build on confidence and any time you win anything it's a confidence builder."

This is Daly's first victory since the 2004 Buick Invitational.
