SAN FRANCISCO -- If 2010 was the year of the 59, 2012 might be the year of the double-eagle.

Nick Watney added the second double-eagle of the 2012 major championship season when he holed a 5-iron from 190 yards on the 522 yard par-5 17th on Thursday, joining Louis Oosthuizen who holed out in the final round at the Masters earlier this year.

"I don't know what I was feeling," Watney said after the round. "Kind of, I can't really remember what I was feeling.  It was kind of disbelief and joy, and it was really exciting."

Watney joins T.C. Chen in 1985 at Oakland Hills when he knocked one in on the 527-yard second hole in the first round and Shaun Micheel in 2010 at Pebble Beach when he holed it on the 523-yard sixth hole in the final round as the only people to ever score a "2" on a par-5 in the U.S. Open.
