The Astros have called up former Mets outfielder Fernando Martinez, the team announced.

With the Mets, Martinez made Baseball America’s top 100 prospect list in four separate seasons. His development in the minors stalled due to a number of injuries.

The Astros claimed Martinez off waivers this offseason. The 23-year-old outfielder was already up with the team earlier this year, receiving 15 plate appearances over four games. While he didn’t hit well in that extremely brief stint, Martinez is hitting .314/.367/.507 in Triple-A this season.

In other Astros news, the Blue Jays have claimed Astros pitcher Juan Abreu off waivers, according to MLB.com’s Brian McTaggart.
