Angels' Travis d'Arnaud: Goes deep again Wednesday
D'Arnaud went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 11-8 victory against the Rangers.
D'Arnaud's long ball was a solo shot in the fourth inning that tied the game 5-5. The veteran backstop has homered in each of his past two games, going 4-for-8 with four RBI over that stretch. While Logan O'Hoppe remains the Angels' primary catcher, he's recorded a 0:16 BB:K and .205 batting average over his past 10 games, so d'Arnaud could log a bit more playing time if the Angels opt to give O'Hoppe some time to reset. As it is, d'Arnaud has started over O'Hoppe in two of the team's past three contests.

Angels' Travis d'Arnaud: Powers Halos to victory
D'Arnaud went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double, two total runs and three total RBI in a 6-5 win against the Rangers on Monday.
D'Arnaud gave the Angels their first lead with a two-run blast in the second inning. The Rangers retook the lead by the end of the third, but d'Arnaud came through again in the sixth, tying the score with a run-scoring double. The veteran backstop remains the clear backup to Logan O'Hoppe, and this was his first start in the team's past five games. D'Arnaud has just a .662 OPS on the season but has offered a bit of pop with five home runs over 142 plate appearances.

Angels' Travis d'Arnaud: Goes deep Wednesday
D'Arnaud went 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and two total RBI in a 5-2 win against Boston on Wednesday.
D'Arnaud tied the game with his solo shot in the fourth inning and followed with an RBI single in the fifth. The veteran backstop finished with three hits, equaling the amount he had collected over his previous 26 at-bats coming into Wednesday. D'Arnaud has worked as the backup behind Logan O'Hoppe throughout the campaign and has posted a .225/.271/.383 slash line with four homers and 12 RBI through 129 plate appearances.

Angels' Travis d'Arnaud: Homers in Tuesday's win
D'Arnaud hit a solo home run in his lone at-bat in Tuesday's 2-1 extra-inning win over the Athletics.
D'Arnaud was on the bench to begin Tuesday's contest, but he delivered the game-tying homer as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning. He's homered twice while going 6-for-12 over four games in June. The veteran catcher is up to a .234/.287/.394 slash line with three homers, seven RBI, five runs scored and six doubles over 101 plate appearances. Even with a strong run of form at the plate, it's unlikely d'Arnaud displaces Logan O'Hoppe as the Angels' starting catcher.

Angels' Travis d'Arnaud: Smacks second homer
D'Arnaud went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 5-4 win over the Mariners.
D'Arnaud's homer in the fourth inning tied the game at 4-4. The catcher isn't quite alternating starts with fellow backstop Logan O'Hoppe, but d'Arnaud has done enough with the bat lately to command more than just a backup role. He is 11-for-33 (.333) with two homers, two doubles and five RBI over his last 10 games. For the season, he has a .233/.281/.367 slash line, two homers, six RBI and four runs scored across 96 plate appearances.

Angels' Travis d'Arnaud: Three hits in Tuesday's start
D'Arnaud went 3-for-4 in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Red Sox.
While all three knocks were singles, it was still another strong performance from d'Arnaud. The veteran catcher has seen steady work behind Logan O'Hoppe over the last few weeks and has responded by batting .310 (9-for-29) since May 18 with two doubles, a homer and three RBI.

Angels' Travis d'Arnaud: Hits clutch homer
D'Arnaud went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an RBI single during Sunday's 6-4 win over the Dodgers.
D'Arnaud lifted a go-ahead homer in the eighth inning off Anthony Banda, helping the Halos pull off the series sweep of their Los Angeles counterparts. The performance snapped a four-game hitting drought for d'Arnaud, who went 0-for-15 with seven strikeouts during that stretch. D'Arnaud is slashing .200/.250/.317 in 64 plate appearances this season while operating as Logan O'Hoppe's backup.

Angels' Travis d'Arnaud: Making season debut
D'Arnaud will start at catcher and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the White Sox.
D'Arnaud will enter the lineup for the first time this season after Logan O'Hoppe caught the Angels' first two contests. Though he posted a respectable .738 OPS over 341 plate appearances while filling in for Sean Murphy with Atlanta in 2024, d'Arnaud will likely struggle to reach that level of playing time this season. The 25-year-old O'Hoppe is viewed as both the Angels' present and future behind the dish, so d'Arnaud may be in store for just a couple starts per week when the young backstop needs a rest.
