Tigers' Edwin Uceta: Moves to Triple-A
The Tigers optioned Uceta to Triple-A Toledo on Monday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.
A waiver pickup from the Diamondbacks in January, Uceta was sent out to the minors after allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits and four walks over seven innings in Grapefruit League play during his first camp with the Tigers. The 25-year-old right-hander will probably need to show sharpened command and control at Triple-A for at least his first few appearances of the season before the Tigers entertain the idea of calling him up.

Tigers' Edwin Uceta: Picked up by Detroit
The Tigers claimed Uceta off waivers from the Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
Detroit will likely give Uceta the chance to compete for a spot in its Opening Day bullpen during spring training, provided he's not moved off the 40-man roster before then and scooped up by another organization. Between stops with the Dodgers and Diamondbacks, the 25-year-old right-hander has submitted a 6.27 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 11.5 K-BB% across 37.1 career innings in the majors.

Diamondbacks' Edwin Uceta: Designated for assignment
Uceta was designated for assignment by the Diamondbacks on Thursday, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Uceta split time between the Triple-A and major-league clubs last year and posted a 5.82 ERA and 1.24 WHIP in 17 innings over 10 relief appearances with the Diamondbacks. However, he'll lose his spot on the team's 40-man roster after Arizona signed Evan Longoria to a one-year contract.

Diamondbacks' Edwin Uceta: Back in minors
Uceta struck out seven and allowed two earned runs on two hits and three walks over 3.1 innings in his relief appearance Friday for Triple-A Reno.
Uceta was returned to the Triple-A club after a one-day stint in Arizona, as he was designated as the Diamondbacks' 29th man for its Sept. 20 doubleheader with the Dodgers. Unless Arizona has a need for an extra relief arm over the final week and a half with the season, Uceta may not pitch for the Diamondbacks again in 2022. He's logged a 5.82 ERA and 1.24 WHIP across 17 innings out of the Arizona bullpen so far this season.

Diamondbacks' Edwin Uceta: Up as 29th man
Uceta was recalled from Triple-A Reno to serve as the 29th man in Tuesday's doubleheader against the Dodgers, Sarah Wexler of MLB.com reports.
He last threw three innings Saturday at Triple-A, so he could be available to log a few innings in relief if either Zach Davies or Drey Jameson get chased in their starts. Uceta, 24, has a 5.04 ERA at Triple-A and a 5.82 ERA in the majors this season.

The Diamondbacks optioned Uceta to Triple-A Reno on Sunday.
Uceta was sent out to Triple-A in order for the Diamondbacks to add a fresh arm -- Luis Frias, who was recalled from Reno -- to the bullpen ahead of Sunday's series finale with the Cardinals after five relievers were needed to record the final 11 outs of Saturday's 16-7 loss. One of those relievers was Uceta, who was lit up for four earned runs on three hits and one walk during his one inning out of the bullpen.

Uceta was sent to the minors in late August, but he'll now be cast off the 40-man roster as part of a move to make room for Andy Burns, who was added to the Dodgers' NLCS roster Thursday. The right-hander made 14 appearances (one start) in the majors this year and recorded a 6.64 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 20.1 innings.

Uceta was recalled by the Dodgers on Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Uceta has bounced between the majors and Triple-A Oklahoma City throughout the season, throwing exactly 20.1 innings at both levels. He hasn't been good at either location, posting a 6.20 ERA in Triple-A and a 6.64 ERA in the majors, so he'll likely be limited to low-leverage innings while he remains with the team. Andre Jackson was optioned in a corresponding move.
