  • Phillies' Michael Plassmeyer: Thriving in return at Triple-A

Plassmeyer (undisclosed) has turned in a 1.32 ERA, 0.88 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB across 13.2 innings in three appearances for Triple-A Lehigh Valley since being reinstated from the affiliate's 60-day injured list Aug. 27.

Plassmeyer had been sidelined since late May with the unspecified injury before reporting to High-A Jersey Shore in early August for a three-start rehab assignment and then rejoining the Lehigh Valley rotation. Though he's turned in strong results since being activated from the IL, Plassmeyer doesn't possess a spot on the Phillies' 40-man roster and may not be in the mix for a late-season promotion to the big-league bullpen.

  • Phillies' Michael Plassmeyer: Back with Phillies

Plassmeyer (undisclosed) signed a minor-league contract with the Phillies on Friday, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Plassmeyer was released by the Phillies on Tuesday to free up a spot on the 40-man roster, but he will remain in the organization and return to the 7-day injured list. The 26-year-old southpaw holds a 6.95 ERA and 1.68 WHIP with 47 strikeouts through 44 innings for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

  • Michael Plassmeyer: Released by Philly

Plassmeyer was released by the Phillies on Tuesday.

This move frees up a 40-man roster spot for Rafael Marchan (hand/wrist), who was activated from the 60-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley. Plassmeyer has struggled to the tune of a 6.95 ERA through 44 innings of work this season at the Triple-A level.

  • Phillies' Michael Plassmeyer: Goes on minor-league IL

Plassmeyer (undisclosed) was placed on the 7-day injured list Wednesday at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

There's no public diagnosis yet, but Plassmeyer will miss at least one turn in the IronPigs' rotation. It could serve as a sort of reset for the 26-year-old left-hander, who has struggled to a 6.95 ERA and 1.68 WHIP through 44 innings this season in the International League.

  • Phillies' Michael Plassmeyer: Sent to minors

The Phillies optioned Plassmeyer to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday.

Plassmeyer's odds of breaking camp with the big club appeared to improve when Ranger Suarez experienced a setback in his recovery from left forearm tightness that will result in him opening the season on the injured list, but the Phillies will turn to Matt Strahm rather than Plassmeyer to fill the opening in the rotation. A 26-year-old lefty, Plassmeyer made his big-league debut as a reliever in 2022 but otherwise worked primarily as a starter between stops with Lehigh Valley and Triple-A Sacramento in the Giants organization last season, logging a collective 4.21 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 129 strikeouts in 128.1 innings between the two affiliates.

  • Phillies' Michael Plassmeyer: Not on wild-card roster

Plassmeyer was left off the Phillies' roster for the NL Wild Card Series against the Cardinals on Friday, Alex Coffey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Plassmeyer appeared in only two big-league games this season, so it's not a surprise he's not on the active roster for the postseason. He was acquired by the Phillies from the Giants in June and had a 2.41 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 82:23 K:BB over 82 innings (16 starts) for Triple-A Lehigh Valley after the trade.

  • Phillies' Michael Plassmeyer: Takes first loss

Plassmeyer (0-1) took the loss Wednesday against Houston, allowing three runs on nine hits and one walk over six innings while striking out six.

Plassmeyer relieved Bailey Falter at the start of the second inning and allowed the leadoff man to reach base in back-to-back innings. It cost 25-year-old lefty the second time when Chas McCormick ripped to left to score Mauricio Dubon before the former came around to score himself two at-bats later. Plassmeyer later served up a solo homer to Christian Vazquez in the seventh to put the Phillies in a 3-0 hole. It was just his second big-league appearance of the year after recording a 4.21 ERA and 1.25 WHIP this season in Triple-A.

Plassmeyer was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Wednesday.

  • Phillies' Michael Plassmeyer: Summoned from Triple-A

Plassmeyer's contract was selected from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday.

Plassmeyer was traded from the Giants to the Phillies in early June, and he's posted a 2.83 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 54 innings over 11 starts in Lehigh Valley since joining his new organization. The southpaw hasn't yet made his major-league debut but will likely serve as a multi-inning reliever for Philadelphia.

  • Phillies' Michael Plassmeyer: Moved to Philadelphia

The Phillies acquired Plassmeyer and cash considerations from the Giants on Wednesday in exchange for catcher Austin Wynns.

Originally drafted by the Mariners in 2018, Plassmeyer is now on to his fourth organization after previously being dealt to the Rays and Giants. The 25-year-old lefty will likely report to the Phillies' Triple-A affiliate in Lehigh Valley after turning in a 7.38 ERA and 1.61 WHIP across 11 outings (10 starts) with Triple-A Sacramento so far this season.

  • Giants' Michael Plassmeyer: Shipped to San Francisco

Plassmeyer was traded from the Rays to the Giants on Friday in exchange for Matt Wisler and cash considerations, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Plassmeyer, a 24-year-old lefty, owns a 2.23 career ERA in 185.2 minor-league innings, striking out 25.4 percent of opposing batters while walking just 4.6 percent. He owns a 3.64 ERA in three starts and four relief appearances for Double-A Montgomery this season. He has good control and a lower arm slot which could give lefties trouble but lacks overpowering stuff.
