Torkelson went deep for the second straight game and seventh time this month, bringing his season total to 31 home runs. The 24-year-old has established himself as a good source of power in his second MLB campaign, and he's managed to increase his batting average, on-base percentage and slugging percentage from his 2022 rookie season. Torkelson should continue to trend upward in 2024.

Torkelson went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Thursday's win over the Royals.
Torkelson popped his 30th home run of the season in the 7-3 win, giving him six long balls this month. That's on top of nine home runs in August, as the youngster has upped his power output down the stretch. Torkelson could still stand to improve his .233 batting average from this season in future years, but he's a legitimate slugger who has plenty of fantasy upside.

Torkelson went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI in Sunday's 2-0 win over the Athletics.
In his first multi-hit game since Sept. 15, Torkelson delivered his 33rd double of the season, though it was his third-inning single that drove in the only two runs of the contest. The 24-year-old has had a nice sophomore campaign, as he's now up to 88 RBI across 153 games. He's collected 19 of those RBI in 21 games this month.

Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Blasts homer in loss
Torkelson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to the Dodgers.
Torkelson had gone 0-for-9 over his last two games before receiving rest for Monday's series opener. He homered in the first inning to snap the mini-slump, and he's now batting .277 (18-for-65) over 16 contests in September. While he still has a poor .233 batting average, he's posted a .763 OPS, 29 homers, 84 RBI, 83 runs scored and three stolen bases across 148 games this season.

Torkelson went deep in the first inning with a runner on, then repeated the trick in the fourth inning. The young infielder now has 27 long balls this season after hitting just eight of them as a rookie last year. Torkelson's power has been particularly impactful since the beginning of August, as he now has 11 home runs across his last 34 games. The 24-year-old seems likely to reach 30 long balls as he builds momentum heading into 2024.

It's a big step forward for the youngster, who hit just eight home runs as a rookie last year. Torkelson went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 10-0 victory over the White Sox.
The 24-year-old got the best of Mike Clevinger, lacing a single and a pair of run-scoring doubles off the White Sox starter. Across Torkelson's previous 10 games, the second-year first baseman hit just .086 (3-for-35) with 15 strikeouts. However, Saturday's impressive performance improved his season-long slash line to .230/.316/.437, and he now has 24 home runs, 71 RBI, and 74 runs in 574 plate appearances.

Torkelson went deep in the sixth inning against New York starter Gerrit Cole, giving him 24 home runs this season and nine in August alone. The youngster struck out in his other three at-bats, and he's striking out just under 25 percent of the time on the year. That will be an area for Torkelson to improve upon if he wants to take another step forward in 2024, though he's definitely shown signs of progress in his second MLB campaign.

Torkelson got the Tigers on the board with a solo homer off Javier Assad in the sixth inning. The 23-year-old Torkelson is up to 23 homers on the year, with eight in his last 12 games -- he's gone 17-for-43 (.395) over that span. With his recent hot streak, Torkelson's slash line is up to .239/.319/.452 with 69 RBI and 67 runs scored across 526 plate appearances in his sophomore campaign.

Following a walk by Matt Vierling to begin the top of the first, Torkelson sent an 0-1 pitch over the wall in right for an opposite-field homer. The two-run blast was his fifth in eight games and seventh this month, though his previous six August home runs were all solo shots. The batting average is still a subpar .233, but Torkelson's power surge is beginning to provide the Tigers with the type of production they expected when they made him the first overall selection in the 2020 draft.
