  • Xavier Silas: Puts together best game this season

Silas posted 22 points (6-13 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, two assists and two steals in the 129-125 loss Sunday to the Vipers.

This was Silas' best game with Iowa to date, but the 31-year-old has only played in 17 games with the G League organization thanks to a lingering back injury. Averaging 24.2 minutes per game, Silas will continue to factor in offensively, but his minutes haven't been consistent enough to outweigh is lack of peripheral stats (2.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists).

  • Nuggets' Xavier Silas: Receives camp deal from Denver

Silas signed a training-camp contract with the Nuggets on Monday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Other than the 10-day contract he earned from the Celtics late last season, Silas spent the bulk of the 2017-18 campaign in the G-League where he averaged an impressive 18.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.1 steals across 43 games. That showing was impressive enough to peak the Nuggets' interest this offseason, who will now bring him in for training camp to get a closer look at his skill set. Despite the invite to camp, Silas is still going to have an uphill battle to make the final roster and seems more likely to return to the G-League for the start of the season.

  • Xavier Silas: 10-day contract set to expire

Silas' 10-day contract will expire Friday and he will not be retained by the Celtics, Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald reports.

Silas signed a 10-day deal at the end of March, but ended up getting on the floor just once for the Celtics, notching two rebounds and a steal across seven minutes in Wednesday's tilt with the Raptors. It seems unlikely he'll field interest elsewhere with just a week left in the regular season, so Silas' next move will likely be looking to latch on somewhere this offseason ahead of training camps. In the corresponding move, the Celtics will sign Jonathan Gibson.
