Grizzlies' Jaylen Wells: Out for remainder of season
The Grizzlies announced Friday that Wells (wrist, concussion) has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
Wells suffered a scary fall on a dunk attempt April 8 against the Hornets, resulting in a fractured right wrist and a concussion. With the playoffs on the horizon, the Grizzlies will undoubtedly miss the 21-year-old rookie, who started 74 games and averaged 10.4 points. Moving forward, Vince Williams slots in as the starting small forward, and reserves Luke Kennard and John Konchar could see more playing time.

Grizzlies' Jaylen Wells: Diagnosed with broken wrist
Wells is awake, alert and moving his extremities after being taken off the court in a stretcher during Tuesday's game versus the Hornets. However, the rookie guard has suffered a broken right wrist, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
It is a good sign that Wells appears not to have suffered any significant damage to his head after a hard fall in Tuesday's contest. However, the rookie guard will likely be forced to sit out the remainder of the campaign due to his broken right wrist, allowing Vince Williams, John Konchar, Luke Kennard and GG Jackson to compete for increased playing time. Wells will end the 2024-25 regular season averaging 10.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 25.9 minutes across 79 appearances, including 74 starts.

Grizzlies' Jaylen Wells: Exits game after scary fall Tuesday
Wells was taken back to the locker room on a stretcher after sustaining an apparent head injury in the second quarter of Tuesday's game against the Hornets, Will Guillory of The Athletic reports.
Wells was undercut on a dunk, and a stretcher was called immediately after the hard fall. The rookie can presumably be ruled out for the remainder of Tuesday's contest, and he'll finish the game with three points (1-4 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, two assists and one steal across 11 minutes. The club will likely provide further details on Wells' status by Wednesday night, and while he's sidelined, Santi Aldama and Vince Williams are candidates for an uptick in playing time.

Grizzlies' Jaylen Wells: Scores 13 points Thursday
Wells supplied 13 points (3-6 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 5-5 FT) and five rebounds over 28 minutes during Thursday's 125-104 loss to the Thunder.
Wells' numbers have been trending in the wrong direction in recent weeks, and while he's scored in double digits in three of his last five outings, he hasn't cleared the 15-point mark since March 1. The first-year player seems to have hit a rookie wall, as he's averaging a mere 7.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game despite starting each of Memphis' 14 contests in March.

Grizzlies' Jaylen Wells: Productive in loss
Wells supplied 14 points (4-11 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, two assists and one steal across 34 minutes during Monday's 132-122 loss to Sacramento.
Wells continues to play a significant role for the Grizzlies on the wings, and he took advantage of some extra usage due to Ja Morant (hamstring) and Santi Aldama (calf) being on the shelf. Wells has been cold in recent games, however, but this was a step in the right direction. Over his last five games, Wells hit 29.3 percent from the field with 6.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 three-pointers.

Grizzlies' Jaylen Wells: Returns to game Monday
Wells (head) returned to Monday's game against the Suns in the third quarter, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
Wells went back to the locker room early in the third quarter due to an apparent head injury. However, the rookie second-round pick has since returned, and there is no indication that he won't be able to shoulder his normal workload during the final quarter.

Grizzlies' Jaylen Wells: Exits to locker room vs. Phoenix
Wells exited to the locker room after sustaining an apparent head injury in the third quarter of Monday's game against the Suns, Drew Hill of The Daily Memphian reports.
Wells exited the game with 8:59 remaining in the third quarter, walking to the locker room with his hands on his head following a hard collision. The rookie second-round pick will likely be checked out for a concussion, and if he's unable to return, GG Jackson and Cam Spencer are candidates for an uptick in playing time the rest of the way.

Grizzlies' Jaylen Wells: Scores 12 points in loss
Wells finished Monday's 132-130 loss to the Hawks with 12 points (4-11 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, six assists and two steals over 33 minutes.
Jaren Jackson left this game early with an ankle sprain, though the severity is unknown. If Jackson is forced to miss time, Wells appears likely to soak up some usage on the offensive end, especially with Ja Morant (shoulder) injured as well. Over his last five games, Wells has produced averages of 13.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 3.2 three-pointers.

Grizzlies' Jaylen Wells: Records 19 points
Wells logged 19 points (7-12 FG, 5-7 3Pt), five rebounds and two assists over 40 minutes during Tuesday's 151-148 overtime win over the Suns.
This was Wells' fifth game of the campaign with at least 19 points. He's typically a low-usage player for Memphis, limiting his fantasy appeal to deeper formats. Over his last 10 outings, Wells has been outside the top-200 in nine-category formats with 10.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.5 steals and 1.6 three-pointers.

Grizzlies' Jaylen Wells: Finishes with 17 points in loss
Wells chipped in 17 points (4-8 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 8-8 FT), four rebounds and one steal over 27 minutes during Thursday's 127-113 loss to the Pacers.
The rookie finished as the club's third-leading scorer behind Desmond Bane (23 points) and Jaren Jackson (18 points) in the loss. Wells was able to contribute 17 points, though he struggled from three-point range. He has shot only 28.2 percent from beyond the arc over his last 10 outings. In that same 10-game span, the 21-year-old has averaged 9.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.3 assists across 23.9 minutes per game as a mainstay in the starting five.

Grizzlies' Jaylen Wells: Does little in Rising Stars final
Wells logged zero points (0-2 FG, 0-2 3Pt) and one rebound over 3:48 of court time in Team C's 25-14 win over Team G League in the Rising Stars final Friday.
Wells had more of an impact in Team C's semifinal win over Team T, finishing with five points (2-3 FG, 1-2 3Pt) and two rebounds over 10:40 of playing time while finishing with a plus-10 point differential. Wells and Grizzlies teammate Zach Edey will advance to the All-Star Game tournament Sunday and face off against Team Shaq in the first round. Wells has averaged 8.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 0.8 steals over 24.2 minutes per game over his last 10 appearances before All-Star weekend.
